Wasn't The Equalizer the first wicker man dude that got burned?

I liked the Irish (???) filming in the original.
It's been a long time since I've seen it. |

Saw the one with Cage. Stupid movie, stupid premise, just stupid and lame all around. No desire to see the old one.

The remake made no sense without the Christian/pagan element of the original. Still, it was one of the funnier movies of that year. Poor Ellen Burstyn dolled
up like Braveheart...I hope she was paid well.

The remake made no sense without the Christian/pagan element of the original.Buncha chiks all living together, woo-ing a dude once a year then killing him at a festival with an idol or idols and fire? That was in the remake and if anyone doesn't hear "PAGAN!" screaming inside their head from that, they're probably wearing a bicycle helmet, a fanny pack, velcro shoes and drooling on their buss pass with a vacant grin on their face. |

Um yeah, the pagan part was there. The Christian part was not, hence there was no tension between the two (the sacrifice of the Christian virgin to the
pagans), which was the whole point of the original.

No. They went with the bee thing -- he (and the rest of the men) were drones. So the masks and stuff made no sense. And instead of a wicker MAN they should
have had a wicker HIVE. I agree. It was disjointed.
