That's because they are both singers- not models! Carrie is so focused on her looks that her sales & airplay are sinking-- she's turning into a Simpson w/ the "if all else fails go to the tabloids" If she keeps it up she will lose her country fan base as they don't take too kind to that crap

I think that's what is happening! Carrie is turning into a tabloid magnet and Country doesn't like that type of thing. It's fake and false and has no place in their world. Carrie has always been more focused on being famous than on being an artist, hence her saying the best revenge on a bad boyfriend is to become really famous. Carrie lives in Nashville or around Nashville and if suddenly that city starts getting overtaken by papparazzi they are gonna have a fucking shit fit. Nashville is the one place that is full of country stars who live and act like everyday people..no fuss no muss. Carrie doesn't live her life like that, courting fashion shows and dating other celebrities and discussing her love life in the press.

I know and I think her label is catching wind of this OBVIOUSLY-- look at her sales chart & all access radio charts... America has had their fill of Carrie. Sure she is touring but people arlready bought their tickets & if you look at the picture that Vinman/Shyster posted everyone is bored... I'm sure that's why they are looking at sending her overseas.. Try to make a couple bucks & give America a break... Plus they just signed Kristy Lee Cook, Jessica has been getting suprisingly good reviews & Taylor is kicking the shit out of her in sales & airplay already... Her label realizes they need to regroup & move because she is getting kicked the fuck out

Simpson Turns Heads With Debut Country Single

Suffice to say there was healthy skepticism at country radio and on Nashville's Music Row when word began circulating last year that Jessica Simpson was recording a country album, due later this year via Columbia Nashville.

But at least by early indications, Simpson is on her way to swaying opinion in her favor. As reported yesterday, her first single, "Come on Over," makes a historic debut at No. 41 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart this week.

A flirtatious, uptempo song, it was co-written by Simpson with Rachel Proctor and Victoria Banks. "The fun thing about the song is that anxiety of wanting the guy to come over right then and there," Simpson tells Billboard. "Everybody's felt that before."

Columbia Nashville VP of promotion Jimmy Rector says radio is responding positively to the single. "More than anything, people are pleasantly surprised. A lot of people didn't want to like it, but when they heard it, regardless of pre-conceived notions, they realized this is a really good record."

One unnamed programmer went as far as to tell Rector, "'God help me, I really like this song.' That's the reality of what we were facing," Rector says.

maadx, it's not just Jessica and Taylor moving in to take Carrie's throne... Kristy Lee Cook is headin her way too and IMO no one is more poised to become the new country IT girl of the moment than hottie tottie Kristy!

wowzer!! that girl is smokin hot even without a drastic crash diet and "extreme" make-over type of overhaul like Carrie went through.

not to mention her new song is 10 times better than any of the shit on Carrie's latest CD..

From what I've been reading 19 is trying to poise Kristy to take Carrie's place.. Her new single is GREAT & her recording voice is much better than Carrie's.

diana degarmo from season 3 is doing a country alboom too, so carrie is definitely gonna have a singing competition. for diana's sake, I hope she has gotten past the pagentry "c'mon yall" stage.

I saw Diana on Gone Country with John Rich.. she's got a really fantastic voice and if she tones down the "miss teen usa" schtick I think she could do well...I don't think she'll ever reach the same heights as Carrie or even Kellie Pickler but she could have a decent career in country.

I didn't mean Carrie will have a sales competition from Diana per say. But she'll definitely have it in the voice competition.

But then again, every so few years someone comes along with a smash hit record. Carrie did it so, although its not totally out of the question, that she can be that rare time that someone new to the country scene hits it out of the ball park again.

I think there are plenty of new country artists that are lookers, and not just blonde.

KLC will have the same career as Carmen Rasmussen. I don't think she gained popularity from idol as Carrie did. If anything, her career will most likely peak like Josh Gracin's.

He's had some good song but just not the X factor.

I don't think her single is anything outstanding, lest catchy at all.

I actually agree with you shyster! and KLC left at #10 I think, unlike Kellie Pickler who lasted until top 6 indicating she at least had built up somewhat a fanbase.

I also agree, there have been an influx of hotties into country music lately LOL...

No matter how you view Carrie's career, whether you're an Idol fanatic Carriebot, a simple sincere fan, a devout country devotee, or a Carrie detractor - it's easy to see and say with accuracy Carrie Underwood is not sexy - and that, despite her best efforts to appear sexy - is the undeniable fact. Good Ole boys who don't get much action anymore like the big blonde haired, big toothed, image she presents but when they get a close look at the emaciated aneroxic vegitarian all thoughts of sex dissapear like diarrhea down the toilet. Thoughts of Carrie gulping laxatives to maintain her skin and bones appearance suddenly appear in their minds and that thought and it's shitty result make sex the last thought in their heads about Carrie "Ex Lax" Underwood. If she could make music that's unique and not cointrived and full of cliches - she could claim credibly she had something to do with the production and creation of her hits but that's not the case - her name may be listed as a co-writer but her contributions are virtually ZERO - the label wanted to avoid a backlash but who actually believes Carrie Underwood writes music? N O O N E!

ETA- Look into Carrie Underwoods face for charisma, character, and classic beauty - and you'll strike out. If Carrie gained a few pounds she'd have a newvous breakdown - her self image is tied to her aneroxic appearance. Why? *sick* That's why.
