Ever notice how people with blue eyes in those old pics look like zombies?? It always kinda freaks me out. They always look like a corpse that was just perched
up.

I've tried to get my girls to read these books, but they hate them.
The first few books don't have Nellie - so they are a little boring. I always wanted to be Laura - and I remember the pig balloon and tail thing too - I think they did roast and eat it. I'll probably go to Mansfield sometime to see that house. |

Why do they hate them!? I re-read them over and over and over again.

I did too.
My 10 year old thought it was just really weird and boring. When I'd say - doesn't make you want to live back in those days? She'd look at me like I was nuts! |

ha! I really wanted to be Laura, too. I used to imagine my hair getting long enough that I could do it up in a mass of braids.
Speaking of hair, there's a scene in one of the books, where they're sleigh riding or something, and Mary Power (who was also awesome) was wearing a switch or something? I assumed it was fake hair, but does that mean that she didn't have long long hair? That always confused me, I imagined her hair falling off and her being totally bald. |

Here's an interesting factoid: There are no living descendants of Charles and Caroline Ingalls. Of their four kids who lived into adulthood, only Laura
had a children, with only one daughter living into adulthood. That daughter had one child. That child died during or shortly after birth. End of the Charles
Ingalls line.

Merlin Olsons wife was the total MILF.
I know Charles was hoping Merlin would die so he could take his wife and become a Mormon. |

there were some hotties on that show.
I once rubbed one out to the fantasy of Mary wanking me off like she was churing butter. OF course, I made the teacher 'stand in the corner' as she experienced the pleasure of becoming a 3 input woman. that was fun. |

Okay, so I just finished reading Ghost In The Little House.
Not only was real-life Laura kind of a turd, her daughter Rose did most of the writing of the Little House books. I demand that everything that's named after Laura Ingalls Wilder be renamed after me. |

That always confused me, I imagined her hair falling off and her being totally bald. ******************** The hairstyles in the 1880's and 1890's (not sure exactly what decade the courtship took place in) required a lot of hair. Even people with long hair supplemented it with switches, or better yet "rats" (ew), to get all that puffiness and the elaborate buns and braids and curls and such. In one of the middle books, Laura and Mary make a hair receiver for Ma. When women combed or brushed their hair they'd keep the hair in the comb or the brush and save until they had enough to make their own rats for their hair. Or better yet, make jewelry or art out of it. ::shudder:: I've always loved that picture of the three girls that someone posted on page 3. Laura is the one standing, and she is so vibrant compared to the other two, who look very passive and timid; Laura looks like she's going to take off running the moment the photographer is done. edited to fix the fact that I hit quote and it still didn't come out right....stupid Safari
