Mr. Postal, you should resist shark fin soup at all costs. Sharks keep the Oceans clean and in-balance.Never had shark fin soup. Just had some thresher and some hammerhead when I was vacationing in Baja Mexico. (And yes, I was vacationing, I was most certainly NOT "on holiday." A holiday is what's coming up tomorrow, it's a day to commemorate a special occasion. Anyone who says "holiday" when they SHOULD say "vacation" should be fed to sharks. With laser beams on their heads.) |

saw a 5'-ish gray shark (don't know what kind, i don't remember) while snorkeling off molokini. that was cool, but i didn't get much chance to
look at it because my sister was pissing her pants even though i told her it would probably eat the 30 other fish swimming around it before it went after her.
doofus.
and then while i was swimming a tiger shark ate a sea turtle about 100 feet off shore where a bunch of surfers were hanging out. they cleared the beaches until it left. the lifeguards told us they often found sea turtle carcasses washed up on shore. that was very cool. (but not for the turtle, i guess.) |

you came a breaths distance from one fo natures perfect predators...the Tiger shark. I have been to Fiji and Hawaii looking for this magnificant bastard...and I have studied sharks for years... and you see a turtle predation that just f**kin figures... HEre is the deal...Turtles eat jellyfish and tiger sharks eat turtles. If you are around turtles OR jellyfish clear out of the water, friend. |

Belize. A dozen or so overly fed sharks just hanging around as we were snorkeling through a conch preserve. Kids liked it, Dr. Salt and I were duly impressed
by their intimidation factor.

Try following barracudas off the Keys. Mean looking wankers.

I grew up sailing in the Keys and will never forget when a group of sharks came upon me one time while I was snorkeling and then as I tried to swim away I was
approached by some big ass barracudas. I think at that point I started hyperventilating and tried to climb back into my mother's womb.

Baracudas can be very aggressive and territorial as well. the Keys had a famous 15 foot great hammerhead (that was eating hooked Tarpon) recently KIA... |

I dated a shark once. He dumped me, so I had him harpooned.

I swam with turtles in Kauai, but we stayed far enough in that there were't any sharks to worry about. Having a continuous breakwater that far out was
really convenient for worry free snorkling.

My girlfriend and I went sailing one day. We had picked up fried chicken on our way to the boat and we decided to eat once we were well offshore. We were
eating our chicken and throwing the bones overboard figuring the fish would take care of them. After a few minutes we noticed that the fish taking care of the
bones were nurse sharks. Nurse sharks are not a threat to humans, but we decided to take the rest of our trash back to shore with us. And we also decided not
to swim from the boat that trip.
