From what I've read it's pretty good.
Two or three days of heavy use...9 days of standby. |

The full keypad makes them too big for me.
I won't really be sending many emails or texts.....I'm more interested in the web functions. Then I can make bets with my rebate shop when I'm at the track. |

Meh on the Pearl. I traded up to a full-size PDA with a full-size keyboard.
If you do serious messaging, you'll tire quickly of the two-letter-per-key system. If I wanted something as small as the Pearl, I'd have tried the Palm Obsidian, which has a full keyboard. |

The wife nixed the corn stove last night.
Re-crunching the numbers revealed the ROI was much further out than I thought and we decided that it's not worth the hassle. So......now I want a new phone. |

The two letters per key is horseshit. If I wanted that, I'd stick with a regular old phone. I want a full qwerty keyboard if it's going to be anything
more than a phone.
If you just want a phone, get a phone. If you want a smartphone/PDA, get one that works. It's toofa king small...unless you're a 12-year old girl (down, Weems). It's cheap feeling and has all the annoying Blackberry features with none of the good stuff. Last job, they sent me a Pearl. I sent it back unopened.

Ok, my other options are the Palm Centro and the MotoQ.
The Palm looks thick on TV, but may work. My buddy had the MotoQ and hated it. It looks like I'd have a hard time putting it in a shirt pocket too. (I'm on Verizon, so please refrain from suggesting phones that are actually cool) |

Palm Centro is better than the MotoQ. The Blackjack is pretty good (my daughter has it) but you'd have to actually have a service that doesn't blow
goats.
And asking me to refrain from anything is like begging me to do it. You know this, ILL...we go way back. Which can only mean you wanted me to bring it up. Meaning you've turned queer and masochistic while I was away. It's a sad, sad week... |

i have a motoq and i like it. it can fit in any pocket fairly easily, although the case they give you sucks.
