that's why my aunt laid on the floor for 2 days when she had the chance to get help after 24 hours. she just didn't wanna live without her dead husband. understandable. she's lost interest in most everything.
That is so sad.

well, the universe obviously had other plans for her. she's gonna get to come live up here now. i'll be down there next tuesday to start that process.
but yeah, they were only married 20 years, but she didn't want to live without him. it's only been a year and a half since he's been gone, so,
understandably, she's still a little down.

Is she coming to live with you? I can just see the stories now about her and your ma.
Good of you to take care of her - I can imagine she still misses him. |

20 years is a long damn time to live with somebody.
Getting old is going to suck, watching everybody you ever knew drop around you like flies.......... :sigh I'm getting depressed. Let's talk about shitty recipes again. Quick Macaroni Goulash 2 C. macaroni, cooked

Have the church ladies started showing up to stake claim yet? My mom wasn't even in the ground yet when they came to fight over my step dad and paintings
on the wall. He waited a whole month before he remarried some blue haired biddy - true story. I think women are better survivors and can make do. Men, not
so much. They need the laundry and cooking and company.

a gay man over 50 is the oldest of old ladies. NTTAWWT.
i'm going down there on tuesday. she's given the rehab people NOTHING but a hard time. according to my aunt, occupational therapy is for losers, and she's no loser. "of course i know how to roll a ball, i'm 80. wtf is wrong with you? quit wasting my time" |

Tell her she'd better behave or they'll bend the needles to make them hurt more (when the time comes for needles)
That's what they taught me to do in nursing school with difficult patients. |

They'd been married since like, the dawn of time.

Are you in the south? If you're in the south you must prepare a big slimy green bean casserole. It's just what's done, that's all.
