Don't worry. I heard they can make you impotent too. You've always wanted to be more impotent, haven't you?

I don't understand why she's mad at me. The shingles must be making her testy.

Has anyone mentioned genital herpes? I think you can get that with or without chicken pox.

Shingles are the most painful thing I've ever experienced. I've had them twice. Both episodes were triggered by a huge emotional upset. If I ever
get them again, I'm gonna ask for some morphine patches. Lots and lots of them.

DHCunt can say she was being sarcastic, but then, the people who actually read the thread can snigger.
Sorry, I forgot to add (although I mentioned it above) that there is some evidence the vax wears off in adulthood, which would make you succeptible to chicken pox and shingles at a later age. Tell me, confederacy of dunces, how many of you think the varicella vaccine gives you autism? |

This dunce doesn't think so. And I've never had chicken pox or herpes.

The anti-viral will clear up shingles within a week if you start taking it in the first 72 hours of onset.

I am taking out my frustrations by upsetting the applecart over in OSTS, in the John and Kunt plus the Superfluous 8 thread.
My shingles have caused my Kate hate to blossom. Nay, flourish even. |

Oh man, Trho+ singles==imminent massacre.
Hope you feel better soon. That sucks. Maybe you need more morphine patches all over you. Make a cute little cami out of them or something. BTW, my kid had the chicken pox vaccine and still got chicken pox. The vaccine ain't working as well as originally thought. Efficacy is almost 100% in the first year but drops off to 85% in the second year, and keeps going down after that. Allegedly you need a booster shot. |

So then, whe won't be able to get shingles, right?

They believe if you wait until 18 months rather than 12 months, the efficacy will stay up there around 90%.
Time will tell if you need a booster, but so what? A booster is a small price to pay to avoid this. Oh, and did DHC tell you she's waiting til age 3 to give her kid a chance to contract them 'naturally'? Cause then he'll be immune to getting shingles. Yeah. |
