I would need to be paid a lot of money to go to a concert.

Best - Tough call but i'll say either AC/DC on their Back In Black tour or Ozzy on his Blizzard of Oz tour. I can't imagine it being any better even if
Randy Rhoades could have made it.
Worst - The Kinks (who i love) on their One For The Road tour. The entire concert was literally word for word from the aforementioned album. Even the banter to the audience between songs was the same. At one point i was convinced they were just playing the record. |

Garbage was the best. It was a really small venue so Shirley Manson was so close I could almost touch her and we were in the middle seating. Awesome. Just saw
The Cure and that was kind of sucky because the people in front of us would not stop dancing with the slutty girl in their row and they were right in front of
the view of the stage. And Depeche Mode sucked because some girl behind me kept spilling her beer on me. I just don't like concerts, I guess I need to get
drunk to enjoy them.

Best: Rush. I've seen them more than a few times and each time they sounded great. A few months ago I got lucky enough to sit 2nd row center at Madison
Square Garden. The guy I was with caught a t-shirt that Geddy threw from stage.
Worst: David Bowie / NIN. Nine Inch Nails was great but then David Bowie came on stage and didn't play one old song.... all new. It was a big let down. |

Another fan here who saw GNR/Metallica. It was Orchard Park, NY 1992. Great great great.
Maybe a year before I had seen GNR/Skid Row at Hershey Park. I was so drunk I can't remember much except for being crushed in the crowd and going up to the nose bleed seats to recover. Also saw Bruce Springsteen-Born in the USA tour-RFK Stadium in probably 1984, I was in heaven. Heart and Kansas at the Capital Center in MD in prob. 1982/83 and I remember the fat singer in Heart had to leave the stage sick. Heh. I met a boy from Baltimore so that is all I really remember. <3 Best recent concert (since I am old now and hate going) was the Foo Fighters about 4 years ago, they really were good live. We also saw U2 at Franklin Field in Philly for their Pop Mart (around 1997) tour........and I'm sorry I love them but they sucked live. Or the sound sucked, idk, it just wasn't good. |

Saw the same tour at Shoreline. 80% of the people walked out after NIN was done. Some guy in a top hat walking a chick around on a leash got booted after
they started some risque spanking action. Freakshow central. Good times.

Interesting that after all of these posts there have only been a couple of mentions of the Dead, all negative. Who were those people who filled their
audiences?
It would have taken a free ticket and the promise of 3-way no holes barred sex for me to go to a Dead concert. |

Best: Pink Floyd, Vets Stadium, Philly 1994. Fan-fucking-tastic.
Worst: NSync, Wachovia Center, Philly 2001. My brother bought tickets for us to take my oldest daughter who was 10 at the time. Hoards of screaming tweens. Horrifying concert. |

How can people narrow it down to one "best" concert? I've loved so many different shows for such different reasons.
also sonic youth, who was unremarkable the other time i saw them, were pretty killer at p4kWell, duh. They played Daydream Nation. I've seen them four or five times and they've always been best when they've played the old stuff. A lot more intensity from them and the crowd.

Best: Metallica/Guns N Roses tour in 92 in Detroit - we got James right before they went to Montreal and he got burned.
Worst: Rush

I've seen the Dead twice - the last time was in Phoenix in the late 70s
the first time was in Oakland (March. 1971) at a celebration for Bobby Seale and Huey Newton's birthday party (my friends were all anti-war types who thought the Black Panthers were cool). All the speeches were over and done and then the Dead were announced to play and almost the entire audience walked out, leaving about 200 people for the concert - that was so cool - huge auditorium filled with sound and all the people clustered around the stage for the concert. Unfortunately my friends dragged me out of there after just a few songs

Madonna-Confessions Tour in Chicago at United. Say what you will about her "singing" ability, but bitch puts on one hell of a show. Not going to see
her this year as Hard Candy is, by far, her worst album ever. Yes, even worse than American Life and Bedtime Stories.

One bad one: Clapton/Muddy Waters on a Summer Sunday..after drinking beer/ smoking weed all afternoon, nodded out during Muddy, only woke up for the Clapton
'Cocaine' finale. Missed the whole thing , for the most part.
Once had two tickets for the Little River Band / Tom Chapin at the local University. Convinced one of my hard rock/Metal buddies to join me. His mistake.. |

I've seen Green Day live twice, and I really enjoy their shows. I also liked Death Cab for Cutie.
I went to see Maroon 5, but after the awesome opening act (the Donnas), they seemed pale in comparison. |
