Baking soda in the refrigerator |
Lead | |
|
Does this really work? I've tried cleaning it out and it still smells. I just put a box in...but I'm skeptical. Also, is there a way to put baking soda
in your fridge without looking trashy? Should I put it in a different container?

it really does work, change it once a month though. you can put it in something else but it's not trashy. |

There's nothing wrong with taking the top off the box and setting it back in the corner somewhere.
As for "does it work?", beats me...but I use it. |

You can put it in a dish, also coffee grounds removes smells.
After a hurricanne, all the meat in the freezer thawed and went bad. I cleaned that pile of shit with everything I could think of...The coffee helped greatly but I ended up buying a new one. |

Even if it's obligatory, it doesn't make any sense. =\
And coffee grounds sound way classier. Maybe I'll do that too. |

It will help, but you obviously haven't cleaned it well enough. Residual bacteria is causing the smell. You need to take everything out, and wash it down
with hot soapy water, dry, and then spray it down with antibacterial cleaner also. And get around any nooks and crannys, under the light cover, behind the
drawers, shit like that. A good once over will hold you for a long time.

Most people don't think baking soda in the fridge looks "trashy."
If your fridge still smells after you've cleaned it out, you need to try again and be sure to get in all the cracks and crevices. Take out the drawers and wash them in the sink. Clean under the drawers and don't put them back in without drying them thoroughly. "Used" baking soda can be reused to clean the inside of your microwave. It works great in the cat's litter box. It can clean your garbage disposal. It can also give a boost to detergent in the laundry. |
