These Redden and Campbell deals are making Craig Patrick look like a genius for signing Gonchar for 5 years at 5 million per. He's still got 2 years left at what is now looking to be below market value for his skills.

Redden is so NOT worth 6.5 mil a season. The Bruins contract with Ryder is also bullshit. Ryder should only be getting 2 million a season max.

The Canucks $10 million dollar offer to Sundin is also the shits.

I personally think the Blackhawks are the winners on the first day of free agency.

I'm hearing Rangers, Pens, Canadiens & Oilers are the top teams for Hossa.

The worst contract of all of them is Commodore's. He's terrible.

Redden isn't worth 6.5 mil a season, but at least he has some reputation to back up the money. Olympian, national team service, former All Star and all that. And he's hot, so he has that going for him, which is nice.

I think Kevin Lowe is insane. That's the only answer for some of the stuff he does.

Chicago overpaid for Brian Campbell. They'll be regretting it on the first open-ice, pansy-ass spin-o-rama that Campbell pulls inside his own blue line, leading directly to a goal scored on the overrated Cristobal Huet.

And the Leafs are, once again, assembling a collection of third- and fourth-liners to rival anyone in the league. Who needs top-6 forwards when you can just load up on bottom-6 guys?

I don't care about the Rangers tossing around stupid money but it would be nice if they tossed it at some of our guys for a change. I don't care if Avery is worth 3 or 4 mill a year, they completely sucked when he wasn't playing. Their record without him in the lineup is atrocious.
