CBR- I grew up about 15 minutes from Yellow Springs and Antioch. It's kind of like the town that time forgot, the women don't shave or wear bras and
everyone wears tie dye.

Don't tell the Japanese about Yellow Springs, they'll try to market it.
I might try to find some Amish. I do love a good apple butter. |

Last time I was in Yellow Springs, Dave Chapelle was sitting on the sidewalk by the Winds (?) stoned out of his mind. He owns a farm there.
I bet everyone is going to get the hell out of there with Antioch closing though. Shag: http://www.visitamishcountry.com/ They have lots of cheese and fudge there too. We even found chocolate cheese, which I guess is a mixture of fudge and cheese or something. |

I'm not asking if the new COSI is better, I'm asking if it has the same stuff as the old COSI.

I grew up near Akron. There's a reason there's a bar on nearly every block...there's nothing much else to do.

Chapelle still sits out there and walks around town alot. Back when my daughter was in Girl Scouts and selling cookies, my son wanted to try and sell some to
him because he was sure the poor guy had the munchies all the time.....

Yellow Springs has its bad points - all the icky hippies, but it also has Young's Dairy.
Youngs = best ice cream ever |

OH GOD YES! Young's has the best ice cream ever! Whenever I go to visit my parents (in Xenia...shudder) I always make a trip to Young's. Hey other Buckeyes, everyone excited for Comfest this weekend? Mmmmmmm. Funnel cake and stoners. ETA: Yeah Gweed, I'll give you that Youngstown is Hell on Earth, but as someone pointed out, Cleveland has come a long way. Although, I will always think of Cleveland as the city with a RIVER THAT CAUGHT ON FIRE from pollution.

Xenia is mowed down every other year by a tornado. what's up with that? did they incur god's wrath or something? |

I graduated from Xenia High. I wrote a paper my junior year about the history of tornados in the area. It's just where it's located within the Miami Valley that makes it like a magnet for tornados. The Native Americans called the area "Devil Winds." |

I grew up there, you get kind of immune to the tornadoes after 4 or 5. I am afraid to ask who your parent's are, my Mom knows everyone. Don't forget about the Udders n' Putters minature golf at Young's, ahh the family fun. |

XHS class of 91. Yeah, I'm old. I was only 2 when the big one hit, but was there for the small one in 89 (I think that's when it was) but had moved away by the time the one in 2000 came. I found it ironic that the 2000 tornado mostly destroyed a few churches and Wal-Mart. I think God is telling us something. |

But yeah, Cedar Point has the most rollercoasters in the world I believe! You need to go and ride Top Thrill Dragster and Maverick! They are AMAZING! I stood in line for Top Thrill Dragster for 6 HOURS on it's opening day. |

I graduated in 1986, so yeah, I'm older than you. My ex-sister in law was in your class of 91.
I was in kindergarden when the big one hit, but remember it pretty vividly. I did find it funny that the one in 2000 took out the bible thumping churches, part of crack house row and the Walmart. Too bad it didn't take out more, it's the only way the town gets spiffed up from time to time. |

I love OT's Old Home Town Weeks.
And you can't be that far from Amish Country, Shag. |

Do they still have the Harley rally at the State Fairgrounds in the summer? I also remember some HUGE Octoberfests.
I also remember Ernest being on some weather station billboards back in the day. My first Ex was on one with him. They filmed the movie Teachers in one of the high schools there too, forget which one though. |
