I'll be the first downer. He never made me laugh. Not once. It's possible he had some funny lines in Dogma but I can't immediately recall any, and
he probably didn't write them anyway. It is kind of sad that none of the networks seem to care though.

 I used to listen to his albums
when I was a teen lass, and his HBO specials were great. I like cranky comedians.
My sister and I were talking about going to see his show here on 7/23. Guess I just saved myself $65

This death is SAD!!!! I've actually bummed...like someone I know is gone.
I've got hours and hours of Carlin material on my computer. Like many, can recite bits of various routines. And I'll disagree with whoever said he stopped being funny in the 80s...fuck no!!! He got salter and surlier with age, yet never once lost it...not even close. He had an HBO special last year that started out with this stream of consciousness banter that was just...dizzying in complexity. Here's a 70 year old reciting this stuff from memory...unfuckingbelieveable. btw my thread title suggestion would be a line from I think Parental Discretion where he talked about euphomistic language... "I won't have to die...I'll pass away..." |
