Really? The only WF's I've been to are in Marin and Berkeley. I paid $40 for a box of chocolates there once..... It was a double-decker box. OR SO I
THOUGHT. When it was opened, it turned out the bottom layer was some bubble wrap/styrofoam filler BULLSHIT.
I still hate them for that |

when I lived in Toronto Whole Foods was the only foodstuffs store available to me and i hated it.
Sometimes you just wanna say fuck it and eat Beefaroni. |

Totally.
AND...they don't carry Best Foods mayo at Whole Foods. Just some other weird crap, incl. their store brand, which reminds me of Miracle Whip -- it can ruin a tuna sammich (or any sandwich) like nobody's business. Actually... they don't carry it at TJ's either, and I think their store brand mayo is just as heinous. So.... they're even in that respect. (Yeah, I love mayo.) |

TJ's seems to be cheaper than Whole Foods on the items they both carry, but the selection at TJ's is really, really small. And WF is generally cheaper
than other grocery stores on comparable items.
I'm on a gluten-free diet, and that's where TJ's fails miserably. It has very few GF items, and the stuff they carry (especially their TJ's brand) is poorly labelled, so I have no idea what I'm getting. WF has a nice GF selection, but what I really like is that they label stuff for people with food allergies and other sensitivities. You'd think TJ's would cater to that market as well, but they seem pretty oblivious to it. |

Is Whole Foods one of those places where godamned hippies walk around looking for free-trade, organic, sustainable vegan stuff?

Yes, although fewer of them, since the owner demonstrated he doesn't understand his own brand.

I have to admit - first time I went to Trader Joes, I was not impressed. But I was sick and it was a busy Saturday afternoon and I just didn't know what to
buy. Then I started getting the flyer and I've found my favorites. It isn't a store that you do all your shopping in. But - they do have some fantastic
deals.
Wegmans has become my new favorite grocery store though. |

Sloansalad wrote: The WORST thing about WF is the people who shop there. Lots of middle-aged housewives who've never worked for anything in their lives who think that if they buy packaged, processed foods with the word "Organic" plastered on it, they are "eating healthy" and libtard college kids living off mommy and daddy who think they are being stylish by eating pre-packaged Vegan frozen foods. You need to go in, get your food and not make eye contact with anyone there. |

They carry artichokes year round. I LOVE to steam them. Their frozen sweet potato fries are the best, too.

So has anyone tried TJ's marinated chicken or what? IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD I MUST HAVE MORE.
I also started a thread about their Tea Tree Tingle body wash once.............. that stuff is the best. BEST! the only way to really wake up in the a.m. is a cup of coffee, and a tea tree tingling ass. Truly invigorating. |
