The producers must have been reading boards all over the net...so many people were saying the show was great and his hair sucked. Also, he switched to Windsor
knots!!!

MsJulieR wrote: Got the DVD, one of the extras is a piece with the Public Defender who inspired the show. His line is that no matter what the circumstances are, he believes his client to be innocent and focuses on the best aspects of the person. So from what I gather, Kellerman's demeanor will never really change with his clients. He will always take them at face value and truly believe in them - no matter what. And I think he had 1 or 2 guilty decisions last year, but don't quote me on that. ... and yupp, 24 hours later and the Fallon clip still rules over all.

You can say this show has grown since last season or say that it has completley changed for the worst... I like the former.
I loved the emphasis on the court room last season, but it has been nice to slightly remove ourselves from that element and flesh out these characters a little more. Albeit, with some of the cast getting lost in the shuffle from week to week. Blonde haired Public Defender dude has had virtually no screen time... I still don't know his name and I have been watching S2 while watching the S1 DVD - not good. I like the increased use of Balco and Roz. Great actors, great characters. The exchange with Balco and Jerry at the end of last week's episode was just great work. I like the questioning of Jerry's ethics in general. People have been clammoring for that. As for Roz, her annoucing in the premiere that she would be taking on cases herself got me pumped, unfortunatley they haven't been in the court room that often. Seems they just completley dropped the romance between blonde hair and Roz. It doesn't work, but some resolution would be nice. (Really depressing that I can't think of his name) Anything involving Bobby from Brooklyn equals win for me, even if it is a silly, somewhat out of place stalker arc. The bag of douche cop works for me. He is annoying and frustrating, but not the story itself. Next week looks good. Thumbs up to S2 so far. |

http://www.eonline.com/ub...ark-paul_gosselaars.html TNT Cancels Mark-Paul Gosselaar's Raising the Bar Karen Neal/TNT
Anybody wanna hire Zack Morris for a TV show or a Saved by the Bell reunion movie? Because he's free... Sources confirm to us exclusively that TNT is not renewing the Mark-Paul Gosselaar legal drama Raising the Bar for a third season. A rep for the network says, "Everyone at TNT had a great experience working on Raising the Bar with Steven Bochco and the rest of the show's terrific cast and crew. We're proud of the series and appreciate the efforts of all of the creative people who were involved. Unfortunately, ratings for Raising the Bar's second season did not reach the levels required for TNT to renew the series." TNT has not yet scheduled the three remaining unaired episodes of the series about a group of New York City public defenders and city district attorneys who studied law together and now face off in the courtroom. Raising the Bar premiered to 7.7 million viewers last fall, but the second-season premiere was down to 3.6 million, which was less than half the viewership of lead-in The Closer. Ratings performance through the second season was lackluster at best, and the by-the-numbers plots about anal sex never received much critical acclaim. Raising the Bar costarred Malcolm in the Middle mom Jane Kaczmarek, Angel alum J. August Richards and Melissa Sagemiller. Although Raising the Bar apparently wasn't working for the network, TNT continues to aggressively program broadcast-competitive hourlong dramas. TNT recently picked up NBC castoff Southland and earlier this year renewed Jada Pinkett Smith's nursing series Hawthorne. The final episodes of superhit The Closer's fifth season are scheduled to air throughout this month. (No word yet on a renewal, but given the ratings, if star Kyra Sedgwick and creator James Duff are game, you have to believe it'll happen.) Caper series Leverage has also been renewed by the network, while the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced undercover-cop series Dark Blue, starring Dylan McDermott, remains in limbo. The low-rated Holly Hunter star vehicle Saving Grace has been scheduled to air its final episodes next summer. Are you guys bummed about the end of Raising the Bar or just counting the minutes until Christian Kane comes back with more Leverage?

It was the long hair that gave the show its powers. He never should have cut it.

SuitSnob wrote: Well, thats what DV-R is for... I just hope Bochco got some kind of notice, and there will be some kind of closure. Its not like the show will be hard to wrap up. I have felt TNT has been pretty heads up since they have become such a strong cable heavyweight, but this was just dumb planning and decision making all around... It took them until after bringing the show back into production to realize they weren't happy with the show's numbers?? Waste of money and pretty dis-respectful to a show they didn't even give a chance to "rebound". Which by the way, that is almost ridiculous to say, as the numbers weren't as good as Season 1, no, but they were still more then respectable for cable. AMC bloody Emmy contenders average like 1.2 million, RTB was pulling in 3's and 4's. Just ironic that they bring Southland in (which now essentially is RTB's replacement) after they got a beyond raw deal on NBC, to only give RTB an arguably raw-er deal. Screwed up. |

It also stings that they renewed the crappy Dark Blue for a second season.

Well, just a reminder about the last 3 episodes being on tonight. It looks like it's the only thing on that isn't a repeat or crap. Except for A
Christmas Story, but that can wait.
