Lindsay Robins

Perhaps the shortest member of our Top 24, Lindsay Robins knows her petite stature can be deceiving. "People watching the show can expect big performances from me, high energy and high notes!"

Lindsay brings a great deal of songwriting experience to Canadian Idol, having written songs on her own and with former MuchMusic veejay-turned celebrated songwriter, Christopher Ward.

"To me, songwriting is just as important as singing," she says. "Since we are singing cover versions of songs on the show, I am going to try to put as much of myself into every performance and really make each song my own."

The artistic community in Lindsay's hometown of Montreal makes her proud to have been born and raised there. "There is a huge music and art scene in Montreal! Maybe it's the 82 months of winter we get a year that forces us to stay inside and practice."

Legendary rock star Chrissy Hynde of The Pretenders has been a huge influence on Lindsay, who admires her unique voice and style. "Her vocal delivery in every song is packed with attitude! She's definitely someone who I'd like to meet one day because I think she's so wicked!"

Lindsay hopes this experience ultimately does not change who she is. To her, she'll always be the girl from Montreal who loves performing in front of an audience, creating her own clothing, and has come this far by being herself. "Plenty of people are going to judge you and try to tell you who they think you should be, but you have to be able to look in the mirror and be happy with what's being reflected back at you. I always have to be me."
