I spent some time in Europe when I was a child and some things still confuse me - the short forms of dates especially - mm/dd/yy or dd/mm/yy - and it doesn't help that I work for a foreign company

Dominant and dominate. Who would have thought people would confuse these two every single time? Argh. Go read a sports thread anywhere on the internet and
you'll find someone saying how such-and-such team is going to be very dominate this year.
I want to hit these people with a shovel. |

Israel vs. Isreal! Drives me fucking nuts.
Was having an argument with a guy online once and he didn't like what I was saying so he accused me of being remeddial! He sort of lost all credibility there! |

I hate all these mentioned so far. Also, it's weird, not wierd.
One that made me laugh hysterically was "pregnate." I think it was here, even. |

definitely definately
arguement dieing, lieing, etc. This is a grammar error, but it bugs the Hell out of me and I see it all too often: "shouln't have went" It's "shouldn't have gone". |

Text typing makes me insane, especially when people my age use it to send messages.

This is more a grammar issue than spelling, but...
eachother is NOT a word. It's "each other" with a nice space inbetween, not "eachother" all squashed up against each other. Whew, I feel better now. |

I hate when muthafuckers use "is" twice when it is completely unnecessary. "The problem is is....." "The issue here is
is......"
That and holier-than-thou hippie wannabes driving their Priuses to Trader Joes to get "organic" whatever. NEWS FLASH: If it is or was ever alive, it's organic. Get off your high fucking horses and learn English you pathetic sheep. Spelling? Fuck spelling. This language is so fucked up it ain't worth the effort to get it right. I mean just look at THROUGHOUT. Follow me? |

stationery vs. stationary: stationEry with an E for envelope
capital vs. capitol: capitAl with an A like capital A desert vs. dessert: letter S twice in dessert because you always want seconds of dessert Loose vs. lose bugs the crap out of me. I'm a fitness instructor and I post on a message board for fitness professionals. It's unbelievable how many of them do not know the difference between loose and lose. Grammatically, my pet peeve is SEEN instead of SAW. Example: "I seen JLo on tv. She is going to loose all her baby weight by giving up desert and riding a stationery bike!!!!1!!" |

Someone on NPR yesterday kept saying "MPGs" during a story about oil consumption in the US. Wanted to reach through the radio and strangle the numb
skull. Same thing with people who say "WMDs."
NEWS FLASH: The plural form is already included. Wake up. |
