Pink Floyd's The Wall is pretty overrated. I mean, it's good, but it's not THAT good. There aren't that many individual songs that are
really great, though the ones that can are awesome.
The Dark Side of the Moon is a much stronger album. |

And on that note, Pink Floyd did not become interesting or even listenable until Syd Barrett left. Roger Waters was a complete hard-on, to be sure, but at
least he made something memorable out of it and is pretty much the reason they have a "legacy" at all.

Oh, and I don't know how unpopular of an opinion this is, but...
You don't "get" Pink Floyd unless you have listened to them while under the influence of drugs. I had this friend in high school who claimed that Pink Floyd was one of his favorite bands, but he had never once even done drugs. (Still hasn't to this day, I believe.) I was always like, "Um, you don't even know!" I'll never forget my experience with DSOTM. At the time when I got it, I was in a clean phase. I thought it was a really, really good album. Later, when I started getting high again, I listened to it after having smoked a joint and was like, "...whoa..." |

I only like about 3 Pink Floyd songs total. I can't name them until I hear them.
I hate both The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon albums. |
