This has been done in previous seasons, and has already been done recently for the top Three. Here are my rankings for the rest:
4th Place: 1. Tamyra 2. Chris 3. Latoya (gap) 4. Lakisha 5. Josh 6. Anthony (enormous gap) 7. Jason. The first three were all shock eliminations. Jason barely belongs in the top 12 at all, let alone in 4th place. The rest are all quite good.
5th place: 1. George 2. Trenyce 3. Paris 4. R.J. 5. Brooke 6. Scott 7. Chris. Not a very strong group. The three who've had CDs released all flopped.
6th place: 1. Carly 2. Kellie 3. Constantine 4. Phil (big gap) 5. Christina 6. Carmen 7. John. Big drop off in the middle. Christina was adorable, but not a very good singer. The last 2 didn't belong in the top 12, and it's never been explained exactly how Carmen got in at all.
7th place: 1. JENNIFER (enormous gap) 2-6 (interchangable) Ryan/Kimberley/Anwar/Ace/Kristy (another enormous gap) 7. Sanjaya. Having Jennifer and Sanjaya finishing in the same slot is a travesty.
8th place: 1. Nadia 2. Michael 3. Bucky (big gap) 4. Ricky 5. Haley 6. A.J. (VERY big gap) 7. Jon Peter. The talent drops off fast in the middle. Jon Peter's "singing" was impossible to ever take seriously.
9th place: 1. Mandisa 2. Gina 3. Ramiele 4. Camile 5. Niko (big gap) 6. Jim (gap) 7. Corey. This is a very weak group. Camile would finish near the bottom of any other group except the 11th placers. Ramiele got worse each week. Corey is my pick for the worst finalist ever.
10th place: 1-5 (interchangable) Julia/Amy/Jessica/Lisa/Chakezie (gap) 6. Chris 7. E.J. Some pretty good singers for people eliminated so early. The first 5 are all about equally good.
11th place: 1. Stephanie (enormous gap) 2-6 (interchangable) Charles/Matt/Mikelah/Kevin/Amanda. God, what an awful group. Stephanie is the only one worthy of being in the top 12 at all.
12th place: 1. David 2. Vanessa 3. Melissa 4. Lindsay 5. Brandon (gap) 6. Leah. The first four are much better than their season's 11th place finishers.
