We (chicks only!) are going to attend along with PhoofeOldestKid's bestfriend and her Mom. (BTW - we Mom's are NOT horse crazy - it is the chillin's.) We hope to drink profusely!
So there's your fodder for the rippin' this weekend, Bernie. Happy?

Okay, it's a convention in Lexington, KY in July of Breyer Enthusiasts where they sell, buy, collect, have classes on how to modify, display the real
horses behind the models, huge "swap meet - o - rama" of these horse thingies.

Reminds me of the christmas ornament collectors thing I went to - I was expecting all sorts of unique and/or antique ornaments and it was all Hallmark
ornaments. I was so disappointed.
And I'm afraid to ask, but how does one modify a Breyer horse? |

Cut off his balls.

Breyer horses have balls? I thought, if they were male, all they had was a discrete bump where their penis should be.

There is a magazine called JAH (Just About Horses) where they give detailed instructions as to how to turn a horse into a Mermaid, or whatever. You pop them into the microwave or boiling water and then you can !!%*% them into something totally different. I kid you not. (I just hope there are lots of Margarita stands for the adults!) Ha - I guess the word (without the added 1's) 1transform1, is illegal?

I, um, used to love these horse statues. It is entirely possible that my 10 yo niece inherited some 30+ year old horse statues from me. It is also entirely
possible that I did NOT want to give them to her because I loved them so.
I would love to go with Pfoofhe Family. |

My little friend and I used to pretend to be horses. There was mating involved (we saw it on a wild kingdom episode).
I'm going to go find pictures of my favo horse statues. The ones I gave to my niece are all scratched and glued back together. I wish I had taken better care of them. Especially Misty of Chincoteague and the Appaloosa family. |

I'm assuming they do Breyer horses like they do My Little Ponys.

Here's a blurb about it on Wikipedia:
BreyerFest Held annually in July at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, this is a three-day festival for model horse fanatics. During this three day period, attendees can buy, sell, and trade off their own models, purchase special limited-edition Breyer models, and participate in model horse shows. There are also classes that attendees can take that teach them how to paint, customize, and repair their models, providing they are willing to pay a small fee to take the class. Guest stars, usually renowned trainers and famous horses, are also present and perform for the attendees. There is also pony rides and dog agility to attend. You can go to workshops and see how breyer horses are made and even make one yourself. The also have real horse show watching horse do tricks. People can even meet the real horse behinde the model! It is a fun filled palce for anyone who loves horses to go! |
