3 dead and last one standing is awsome and sends out monthly emails to the entire family with stories of her life, she is 97. The stories are priceless!

I was close to my grandma (dads side) growing up. She died about 13 years ago, and my grandfather from that side died before I was born.
my grandparents on my mom's side I am/was EXTREMELY close to. I talk to my grndma at least once a week and see her at least once a week. My grandpa was the funniest most sincere, gentle, loving man I've ever met. just the absolute best. He died about 8 years ago. |

I wasn't close to any of them except my grandmother on my mother's side.
She lived to 91 and was the sweetest woman ever. She fought aging right until the end. Even near the end, she had to get up and put her wrinkle cream and make up on. |

I was lucky enough to have four grands and a great grand into adulthood. All gone now. Three of the four grands were absolute sweethearts (great grand, too).
My paternal grandfather liked to belittle and insult people and then tell them he was joking when they objected to it. I loved him, but.

On my dad's side, my grandfather was pretty distant to our family, to be honest. Yet we still all went to his funeral in '06. He was nice and all, but
we lived so far away and never got much of a chance to talk. His wife, though, moved to the East coast and lives very close to us. So definitely a good
relationship with her.
My other grandfather died before I was born, so I never met him. His wife just died in February, but we were very close, actually. |

Both grandparents on my moms side are dead. My dad's mom is dead, but his dad is one of best drinking buddies. Every time we get together we race each
other to the bottom of a bottle of Wild Turkey.

GPs on mom's side died when I was very young. GPs on dad's side are dead. My grandpa just died a few months ago from pancreatic cancer. I wasn't
really that close to either of them. Truth be told, all of my grandparents were abusive a$$holes, so not much to celebrate there.

I was close to my Dad's father -- he was fun and a great listener. He died 18 years ago. My Dad's Mom was an evil, awful, opinionated bitch. She died
20 years ago.
My Mom's Dad died when she was 5. After my Mom died, my sisters and brothers and I never saw anyone from her side of the family ever again. It was weird. My older sister lives in CA -- when her and her husband were on a trip to Sonoma, they ran into Grandma at a restaurant -- I gather it was awkward but she now sends Christmas cards to my sister -- she is 98 and has no interest in seeing any of the rest of us. |

Both grandmas lived into their 90s but they are gone.
I had a step-grandpa that died when I was 11. The real grandpas died when my parents were children. Mom's dad was murdered when she was 6 months old. My father's dad died when he was 10. I HAVE NOBODY. HOLD ME. |

My grandfathers are dead, one of them I never knew, he died before I was born. The other I adored, my favorite part of visiting NC before we moved here was
getting to spend time with him and my great grandmother.
One of Grandmothers is 97 or 98, I can never remember. She recently had to go into a nursing home. We were/are very close. She's a true Southern lady, never wore pants and stayed at home and raised her 9 kids. She used to take me rock hunting when I was little and told everyone when she had to go to the nursing home it was my fault because she used up all her energy pushing me around in my stroller when I was a baby. Mam-maw is 82 going strong and usually the butt of our family jokes at any family gathering. I talk to or see her several times a week. |

Dad's mom never wore pants either. A lady didn't wear pants. She'd take me to downtown SF shopping and we wore gloves, hats and our good coats.
My mom's mom was a piece of work. Very attractive, perfect size 4 figure. Beautiful eyes and extremely vain. My father used to call her Endora. |

That's funny. Agnes Moorehead will never know the impact she's had on our lives.
