In season-premiere news, the return of ABC's The Mole after a four year absence (and without the "D" list celebrities) generated minimal interest, with a last-place 3.3/ 6 in the overnights at 10 p.m. Retention out of the last half-hour of lead-in The Bachelorette (4.7/ 7 at 9:30 p.m.) was just 70 percent. Despite airing all originals, ABC finished a distant third in the overnights with its line-up of The Bachelorette: DeAnna Tells All (#2t, 4.1/ 7), the regular edition of The Bachelorette (#3: 4.6/ 8), and The Mole (#3: 2.8/ 5), which is unlikely to ever see the light of day after this season.
