Thinga, it's not the proportion that matters. It's the fact that in generation 1, there were three ghosts and three dragons. Generation 2,
there's another ghost and another dragon. Generation 3, we have NINE dragons, three of which are legendaries, which is understandable, but then
there's three regular old dragons out there. Generation 4 has SIX dragons, three of which are legendaries. Most of them just seem unnecessary and it just
bothers me. Dratini and Dragonair and Dragonite were cool and special, but now that it's so easy to get a Dragon, it's just not as much of an
accomplishment anymore. The same goes for ghosts. 6 newbies in RSE and EIGHT newbies in DP. It's too large of an increase to go from 4 in two
generations to about four times that many introduced in the next two generations.

I s'pose you do have a point. Dratini was really fucking hard to find in RBY, and to find a Dragonair was a lesser miracle. In DP finding a Gible
doesn't take much effort and while they're not available until after the elite 4, catching a Dratini/Dragonair is pretty easy if you know where to
look.

You could catch a Dragonair in RBY? o_O
Dratini was kinda easy to find, for me, but like with all the rare ones in the safari zone, it ran after throwing a rock to make it easier to catch, or something. x_x |

Dragonair <3
Even though I never bothered using it. Also just for opinion, I borrowed Ruby from a friend and this is my team: Combusken (Lv. 25) Swellow (Lv. 24) Nuzleaf (Lv. 23) Shedinja (Lv. 22) Azumarill (Lv. 21) Electrike (Lv. 18) I am wondering if this is a decent team since I've played Sapphire once and I don't remember my team. |

80. Lumineon (Water) I honestly don't even have anything to say about Lumineon because of the fact that it's just another Water-type that filled up space in an already bloated 493 Pokemon. It's relatively elegant for a fish, so I guess that's enough to rank it this high.
79. Tangrowth (Grass) And here we have the first of many evolutions of pre-existing Pokemon in DP. Tangela wasn't really anything special in RBY, aside from spawning many tentacle rape fantasies. So come DP, they finally decided to evolve it. But just like baby Pokemon, I feel that evolutions that come in new generations are just filler. I mean, it's never easy to evolve them. You either need to trade, or give them a special item to hold, and it's just not worth it. Tangrowth is just as boring as Tangela, so number 79 is where it falls.
78. Arceus (???) Arceus is yet ANOTHER legendary included in DP. And furthermore, it's a legendary that's supposedly the God of all Pokemon ever. As a result, it was given the amazing ability to hold special plates in order to change its typing, thus making it the only monotype Flying Pokemon in the game. It's really just a gimmick and it bothers me. I don't need special God Pokemon. This ain't Yu-Gi-Oh!
77. Bronzong (Steel/Psychic) Now, this write-up isn't objective, or Bronzong would probably be much higher, but I HATE this guy. The typing basically means that the only types he's weak to are Fire and Ground, and the abilities Bronzong has can nullify either one or the other. Fighting him in the elite four is terible, because the only weakness he has is Fire, which barely has any real use otherwise. Bronzong is the ONE thing that stands in the way of an easy elite four battle, and thus, he's on my shit list. Being a tank doesn't help matters much either.
76. Chimchar (Fire) This has gotta be the worst starter of all time, just from a design standpoint. I mean, monkeys are annoying enough as it is, and to make a tailless monkey with a flame coming out of his butt is just plain stupid. It made me wish that the fake Dark/Fighting/Psychic starters were real. It's just lucky there were literally no other decent Fire-types and it evolves into cool stuff.
75. Magmortar (Fire) Speaking of Fire-types, we have yet another new evolution here in Magmortar. It turns the already fugly Magmar into a FAT fugly evolution that isn't technically as strong, combat-wise. Seriously, from what I've heard, Magmortar is actually WORSE, competitively, than Magmar. Useless...just plain useless.
74. Gabite (Dragon/Ground) Much like Gible before it, Gabite was just too much after we got Vibrava and Flygon in RSE. Plus, the whole land shark thing tells me that the Dragon typing was tacked on. This didn't need to be a Dragon at all. In the end, much like many middle forms, Gabite wound up being too goddamn fugly to be worth anything, and it comes too late in the game for me to care about it, training-wise.
73. Riolu (Fighting) As much as I'd like to consider this a baby Pokemon, I don't think it really is, because Lucario was new to DP. As a result, Riolu is just a first form. Still, the thing LOOKS like a baby and it is hatched from an egg, which basically makes it like Togepi in my book, only a lot less cool. I'll give it props for evolving into something great, but Riolu just don't trigger anything for me. It's a dull Fighting-type.
72. Electivire (Electric) Always teamed up with Magmar, Electabuzz evolves in DP, becoming the bizarre Electivire. Again, nothing really great about it, although I have to wonder why Magmar and Electabuzz have been teamed up with Jynx since the first generation, yet they leave her ugly ass as a second-stage while giving these two evolutions. Again, like most new evolutions, it's just nothing special in my eyes.
71. Cresselia (Psychic) Yet another of the multitude of legendaries added to DP, Cresselia is one of the more annoying due to the fact that it, like the dog trio of GSC, can run away from any fight at any time, thus meaning you either have to waste an assload of time searching for it, or you waste a Master Ball. Either way it sucks. Cresselia makes it this high on the list because it looks kinda cool. I'd never bother catching one, but it looks cool. |

Chimchar is VERY lame. It's the one new fire type that you can get pre-elite 4. It's either him or Ponyta. And it evolves into a Fighting type which we
already had (Torchic). Minus the fact that Chimchar sounds a bit like Charmander at the end.
Cresselia looks so fucking beautiful too bad it's useless. And Arceus hate. It's just useless to me and too gimmicky. I prefer not to have an invicible pokemon. I am happy Tangela got an evo but it's fugly. We didn't need a Magmar/Electabuzz one. I am still waiting for Pinsir to have one and maybe Jynx (They could make her look like Gardevoir if they wanted to). I think Riolu is a useless pokemon. I mean, when you get it from Riley and it hatches it's at Lv. 1 while most of your team is around lv. 40 by the sixth gym. Catching a Meditite early on can easily help as your fighting. Bronzong hate. Where the fuck are its eyes? (Isn't Water super effective against Steel though?)

I thought that, but I think it's just a combination of Steel typically being paired with Rock and Ground/the episode of Pokemon where Water was used by
that metal-worker to fight a Steelix or some shit.

Water is resistant to steel. But water attacks aren't strong against steel.
