90. Manectric (Electric)
I don't even really feel like writing write-ups anymore because I care so little about these middle-of-the-list Pokemon. Manectric is ugly, and it's not special in any way compared to the countless other Electric Pokemon you can find in the game. There's no reason to use a Manectric over anything else, but there's no reason NOT to use Manectric over anything else. It's just extremely boring.
89. Numel (Ground/Fire)
Aside from the starter, Numel is one of only three new Fire-types introduced for RSE. And honestly, it's really not that great. I mean, by pairing Fire up with Ground, that basically gives it an even BIGGER weakness to Water. And being a camel, its speed is low as it is, so any relatively fast Water-type could just swoop in and blow it away. The one really funny tidbit about Numel is that it learns Explosion, which is just such a comical image to imagine happening to a camel.
88. Solrock (Rock/Psychic)
I hate the direction they tried to go with Solrock. I mean, it's part of a two Pokemon set that includes Lunatone, yet while Lunatone stayed Rock/Psychic, they basically gave Solrock all these Fire-type moves and Solarbeam, like it really needs them. I mean, the Psychic half of Solrock is awful because of its low Special Attack, so it really DOESN'T need a bunch of moves that can't even get a STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) to do more damage.
87. Vigoroth (Normal)
Now I understand that Vigoroth has a lot going for it over Slaking and Slakoth. For one, it loses that annoying ability that makes it lose a turn after every attack. And for another, it learns more powerful moves due to its upright standing nature. But still, I've never seen what the big deal is with Vigoroth. I mean, Slaking is extremely powerful, one of the strongest Pokemon in the game, and yet Vigoroth is just its hideous, unevolved form.
86. Torkoal (Fire)
I don't know whose idea it was to create a defensive Fire-type, but in just one update, I've taken out two thirds of the crappy new Fire-types introduced in RSE (again, I never include the starters in that number because the starters are ALWAYS Fire, Grass, and Water). Torkoal is slow, but I suppose it gets some good done because it can't have its attack or defense or any stat for that matter lowered. But really, all it was good for was leveling up low-level Pokemon before reaching the fourth gym.
