145. Parasect (Grass/Bug)

Yet again, we have a weak and lame Pokemon of the grass type. Honestly, with the exception of Bulbasaur and Bellsprout's family lines, the grass type sucked in the first generation of Pokemon. People always say Parasect was awesome for catching Pokemon because it got Spore and False Swipe, but honestly, I don't care enough about Paras or Parasect to level it up to a point where it'd be useful.


144. Poliwhirl (Water)

Another generic water Pokemon, only this one has fists and that's its claim to fame. Its other claim to fame is that the whirl it has for a mouth goes the opposite direction as Poliwag or Poliwrath. I don't really care. Too many water Pokemon in these games.


143. Omastar (Water/Rock)

What did I JUST say? Too many goddamn water types in these games, and Omastar was as useless as any other. For starters, Omastar is a fossil Pokemon, which means you can't get it until the game is 80% over. Second, when you DO get it, it's level 20, which means it's nowhere near the rest of your team. Then you have to level the little fossil up to 40 to get Omastar. And all this work is for a shitty looking mollusk with spikes. Totally worthless, and it was actually the second-to-last Pokemon I ever caught in my Pokemon Red game (where I got all 150).


142. Shellder (Water)

Shellder is useless, like Cloyster, but at least it, like most first forms, is kinda cute, with its little eyes and its tongue sticking out. Shellder is also responsible for the Slow- evolutions. Other than that though, Shellder is yet ANOTHER generic and boring Water Pokemon. The only memory I have of it is the fact that it was annoying as hell to get a decent Shellder picture in Pokemon Snap, making it one of the two most frustrating Pokemon in the game. Also, aside from Jynx, Shellder is the first Pokemon line to be completely eliminated, which says something about its lameness.


141. Poliwag (Water)

What a surprise. ANOTHER boring Water Pokemon. Seriously, it's the fact that you can get at least five different Water Pokemon before the second gym that have made me NEVER chose the Water starter. Poliwag is kinda cute, and his whirl is different than the other two in his line or something. Honestly, I don't care. Boring Pokemon.

140. Zubat (Flying/Poison)

Honestly, Zubat is probably one of the most annoying Pokemon of all time. It's extremely weak and useless, yet every cave you go into in the game is filled with Zubats. You go into Mt. Moon looking for Clefairy or Geodude and you get swamped with Zubats. GSC even started having them pop up outside at night. Zubats are just extremely annoying and if it weren't for its evolution to Crobat, Zubat would've been mentioned in the first update.


139. Nidoqueen (Poison/Ground)

The Nidoran divide always bugged me because of just how lame and pathetic the girls looked in comparison to the guys. Nidoqueen is an excellent example of this. Nidoking looks badass, like a warrior, but Nidoqueen looks like some slow-ass dinosaur with oddly-colored breasts. And she wasn't even as powerful as Nidoking. Also, I've noticed that a lot of the half-Poison types are low on the list, but that's because they're all extremely lame because they aren't special like most of the pure Poison types.


138. Seaking (Water)

Yet another useless Water Pokemon shows up early on this list. The only thing that's special about Seaking is the fact that it learns Waterfall on its own. But Waterfall is such a useless HM that it's not even worth it, especially since it's not like you only get one chance to use an HM.


137. Venonat (Bug/Poison)

And following another useless Water Pokemon is another useless Bug Pokemon. Honestly, Venonat and Venomoth are probably two of the most forgettable Pokemon ever. I honestly can never remember them when I try to think of the original 151. Venonat was at least cute compared to Venomoth, plus it had a cute voice in the show, but it still wasn't that great of a Pokemon.


136. Seel (Water)

ANOTHER useless Water Pokemon, only this one has a goofy face, and it's actually an animal as opposed to the typical fish/shellfish you think of in terms of Water Pokemon. Plus, Seel evolves into a halfway decent Pokemon, so I can't really begrudge it too much.
