Just give Yunjin Kim the frakking Emmy now |

Girlfriend was on FIYAH tonight. Not to undermine the work of Terry O'Quinn, Elizabeth Mitchell, Naveen Andrews or Michael Emerson, but that was single
handedly the best piece of acting of the series to date, and frankly I challenge anyone to show me a single person (male or female, lead or supporting) that
delivered a better performance on television this season.

she was great in the widmore scene but i feel like the boat blowup crying was a little too over the top.

On a night when an incredible series outdid itself in an epic season finale, one character - Sun - stole the show. |

Heh. I just gave her her props in the discussion thread. Great minds....

I'm pretty sure any 30 seconds of Ben on the screen was better-acted than anything Sun could ever do, LOST or not.

Ben and Sun <333
Sun was amazing tonight, I lurv her. And she was a badass bitch in the future scene with Penny's father. Sooo glad they killed(?) off Jin and are giving her juicy storylines, she really deserves them. Shes gorgeous AND a great actress. |

I was crying right along with Sun. It moved me big time. And when she walked up to Whidmore, man, was she powerful!

it sure beats any of the 6876 scenes where jack cries and/or screams. and it definetly was better than michael's

People react like that all the time when they see a loved one die in front of their face. YOU might be a stoic bastard, but trust me, people tend to emote...and emote hard... in such situations. The emotion felt real, i thought she sold it big time...a fantastic job, cause most actors would have dropped the ball and it wouldnt have been believable. What Yunjin did was take what could have been a maudlin, eyes-rolling season finale gimmick of having a huge boat explode with major characters on it...and she made it feel real. Not easy to do. Thats why people are praising her. |

It wasn't just screaming for screaming's sake. I think she did a wonderful job of showing the pain and grief that one would feel. I would have
screamed like that. That was a heartbreaking scene and she sold it to me. I bet a lot of actresses would have been afraid to go for it like that for fear of
not being able to sell it. But she wasn't and she knocked it out of the park.

She definitely sold it. I believed her pain. It just wasn't Emmy-worthy.

I loved both of those scenes and also loved the scene the week before that when she called out her father and bought out half his company. Sun is BA

Sun was absolutely great all season long. She better get an Emmy nomination this time around!

I wouldn't say her performances have been Emmy worthy, but I thought her reaction to the freighter blowing up was very real.

The thing I love about Sun is that she isn't involved in a love triangle on the island. Juliet and Kate have had major storylines that have gone that
route. It's refreshing to have a female character that isn't just waiting around for some guy to sweep her off her feet. Sun is a strong enough
character to take care of herself, but at the same time she gets scenes that show her vunerability too.

Give Sun a motive and she'll give Ben a run for his money in the plotting department.
Is there an Emmy for acting in a single episode? Because you're right ... The way it used to work was that you get nominated for a whole season and then you submit your two best episodes when the finalists are announced. If she can get nominated, she's got her two strong episodes. Seeing as Elizabeth Mitchell was ROBBED last season and not even nominated, I'm not holding my breath for Yunjin Kim this time out. I do think Michael Emerson is a near lock for a nomination though. |
