They (theclayboard rabid fans) are spinning lovely fairytales of a secret marriage and that they
used "AI" to conceive their love child. And they won't believe a word of it till they "hear" from Clay himself. They talk about Clay
like he is a friend that they have lunch with.

Robbin, it was planned in a petri dish... not like a committed couple seeking to share a child together as a symbol of their love and devotion to each other.
I suspect if this were anyone other than Clay you would be ripping them apart as being amoral.....which is my major problem with the Claymate fanbase. |

yes canjann.. that's correct... Artificial insemination is where the man donates sperm and the woman injects the sperm...in vitro is where the harvest
eggs.... fertilize them in a dish and then implant them back into the woman.

50 year old women don't have viable eggs. They need a donor for that too. I don't think they were going for being clinically accurate on the gossip
reports. Even if the doctors could have used hormones to force an egg, it would be harvested and inseminated in a dish.
This is done for married couples just as much or more often than for a conception by a donor. They aren't claiming to be in a romantic relationship. So far its just a case of him helping her to have the baby she couldn't have while she was married. She was married for 23 years and was childless.

There's no biological clock ticking; Clay has years to find a special someone to settle down with. It's as if he has no hope of lasting love.Why can't he be looking forward to marriage and a family still? It doesn't take away anything from his own future family to donate sperm to a friend. He can be involved with this child and still have a family of his own. |
