Tikei - Day 9
<The tribe is gathered together.>
Jeff - CONFESSIONAL: These past two challenges haven't been so good for us. So I thought before the next one, the team needed a little bit of a pep talk to get us all pumped up and ready to win.
Jeff: We've got a challenge today, guys, and it's time we win. We've lost the last two, so it's about time for a change. We can't let Rapa beat us again.
Tracy: Totally.
Jeff: Give it all you got, and bring it home. We can do it.
<The tribe cheers.>
Tina - CONFESSIONAL: I definitely feel like I need to win this challenge. After the last Tribal Council, I've been feeling very vulnerable. It's do or die, so this challenge is a big one for me. I need to win today. I really need to win!
Immunity Challenge - Something Smells Fishy
Jeff Probst: Come on in!
<Both tribes are shown walking into the challenge. They take spots on two sets of bleachers in front of Jeff, who is standing behind a bar.>
Jeff Probst: Take a seat everyone.
<The tribe takes a seat.>
Jeff Probst: Dave, before we get started, you may now rejoin your tribe.
<Dave stands up and moves over to Tikei. He is greeted by them before he takes his seat.>
Jeff Probst: Alright, let's get to the challenge. First thing's first, Rapa, I'll take back that immunity idol. <Brook hands the idol to Jeff.> Immunity back up for grabs. <Tina is shown.> Today's challenge involves food.
Brian: Uh oh.
Jeff Probst: If any of you remember Marquesas, you may recognize this… <Jeff brings out a plate of fish.> fafaru.
Tracy: Oh no.
Brian: You've got to be kidding!
Jeff Probst: As you can tell, this stuff reeks. And I can tell you that it tastes much worse. Here's how the challenge is going to work: each round, both tribes will send one person up to the counter. When I say "go", the two will race to eat the fafaru and get it down first. The first person to finish it completely scores a point for their tribe. The first tribe to score four points wins immunity. This means that if you score points in the first four rounds, the remaining three tribe mates will not have to eat. So, if anyone is feeling squeamish, I suggest being at the bottom of the order. I'll let you guys determine your order and we'll get started.
<Rapa is shown.>
Leslie: I think I should go last. I don't have a very strong stomach.
Aaron: As long as we win four before Leslie's turn, we're good.
<Tikei is shown.>
Jeff: Let's put our four strongest first so we don't have to make anyone else eat.
Dave: That sounds good.
<A few minutes pass and the challenge is about to get started.>
Jeff Probst: Alright, Tikei and Rapa, send your first two up to the counter.
<Jeff and Aaron move to the counter. Two plates of fafaru are placed in front of them.>
Jeff Probst: To make this challenge a little more fun, you'll only be using your mouth, so put your hands behind your backs.
Jeff: Man!
Jeff Probst: Ready? <Jeff and Aaron nod.> Eat!
<Jeff and Aaron shove their faces into the fafaru. Aaron takes in a huge bite, but spits some of it up.>
Jeff Probst: If anything comes back out, you still have to eat it. You must eat every bit of fafaru. If you throw up, you're automatically out.
<Jeff and Aaron continue to eat. Aaron is struggling to keep the fish inside his mouth. He spits a piece out. He coughs and looks over at Jeff. Jeff looks up and opens his mouth.>
Jeff Probst: Jeff's got it down! He scores a point for Tikei.
Ashley: Way to go Jeff!
<Jeff and Aaron move back to the bleachers. Dave and Brook are up next. They move to the counter and are given a plate of fafaru.>
Jeff Probst: In three, two, one, eat!
<Dave and Brook begin eating. After a few seconds, Brook makes a motion and almost loses everything in his mouth. Dave looks up.>
Dave: My eyes are watering!
<Brook and Dave continue eating. Dave has the last piece in his mouth and turns to Jeff. He opens his mouth and sticks out his tongue.>
Jeff Probst: Dave's got it! Tikei now has two points, Rapa still at zero. Who's up next?
<James raises his hand and moves from the bleachers. Brian meets him at the counter. Jeff hands them plates of fafaru.>
Jeff Probst: Brian and James…go!
<Brian and James begin eating. Brian takes a bite and begins chewing. James takes in about half of the fish and chews it quickly. Brian is shown having a little trouble. James now goes for his second half.>
Jeff Probst: James is devouring this thing!
<Brian is still chewing his first piece. James takes one final gulp and shows Jeff an empty mouth.>
Jeff Probst: James has it down and scores a point for Rapa! <James's tribe cheers.> How did you eat that so fast?
James: Boy, that's the first meat I've had in nine days. I just told myself, it's goin' down, and it's stayin' down. <Jeff smiles and Brook is shown laughing.>
Jeff Probst: Next two, come on down.
<Brian and James move back to the bleachers as Tina and Erica step down.>
Jeff Probst: Tina and Erica, are you ready? <Tina and Erica now have a plate in front of them and have their hands behind their backs. They nod to answer Jeff's question.> Go!
<Tina and Erica start eating. Both have a piece in their mouth and begin chewing. Tina swallows a mouthful and takes in another piece. Erica then swallows and starts chewing another piece.>
Jeff Probst: This is gonna be close.
<Tina continues to chew. She swallows and shows Jeff and empty mouth.>
Jeff Probst: Tina scores for Tikei! They're up 3 to 1.
<Tina and Erica move back to the bleachers. Anthony and Angie move toward Jeff. Fafaru is placed in front of them.>
Jeff Probst: Here's where we're at: Anthony, if you get this down first, you win immunity for your tribe. Angie, you must get this down first in order to keep your tribe in the challenge. <Angie and Anthony nod their heads.> Survivors ready? Go!
<Angie and Anthony take their first bites. Anthony is having a little trouble, while Angie is chewing slowly. Anthony puts his hand up to his mouth to keep everything in. He turns to his side and vomits in the bucket on the ground.>
Jeff Probst: Anthony can't keep it down. Angie scores a point for Rapa.
<Angie spits out the food in her mouth. Anthony returns to his tribe.>
Anthony: I'm sorry, guys. I just couldn't keep it down.
<Tracy and Misty are up next.>
Jeff Probst: Misty, Tikei still needs just one point to win. You have to get this down. <Misty nods.> In three, two, one…go.
<Misty and Tracy both take bites of fafaru. They chew at about the same pace. Misty swallows her piece first and starts on a second. Tracy follows. Misty is now done with her second piece and starts eating her final piece. Tracy is falling behind. Misty continues to chew as Tracy moves onto her last piece. By now, Misty is done. She shows an empty mouth to Jeff.>
Jeff Probst: Misty good! Another point for Rapa!
<Rapa cheers. Misty burps and then turns to her bucket and vomits.>
Jeff Probst: It's okay, you still get the point.
Misty: That was gross.
Jeff Probst: Finally, we have Ashley and Leslie. Come on down.
<An uneasy Ashley is shown as she walks to the counter with Leslie. Leslie has a nervous expression on her face.>
Jeff Probst: The score is tied three-three, which means this is the final round. Whoever wins this gets immunity and guarantees your tribe another three days in the game. Are you ready?
Ashley: I guess so.
Leslie: Ready as I'll ever be.
Jeff Probst: For immunity…go!
<Ashley and Leslie both are reluctant to take a bite. Ashley gets a piece in her mouth and begins chewing. Leslie swallows a tiny piece, and gags.>
Aaron: Come on, Leslie.
<Ashley swallows a piece and takes a deep breath. She takes another piece. Leslie is chewing with a sick expression on her face. She is having trouble keeping the fish in her mouth. Ashley swallows another piece and burps. Jeff coughs due to the scent.>
Ashley: Sorry.
<Ashley starts chewing her last piece. Leslie is struggling with what's in her mouth. Ashley is shown looking over at Leslie. Leslie covers her mouth and turns to her bucket. She takes her hand away from her mouth and vomits.>
Aaron: Damn it.
Jeff Probst: Leslie can't keep it down; she's done. All Ashley has to do is finish this and Tikei wins immunity.
<Ashley continues to chew. Leslie is shown wiping her hand on her forehead, with a sad expression on her face. She is about to cry. Ashley takes one final swallow and opens her mouth so Jeff can see.>
Jeff Probst: With that, Tikei wins immunity!
<Tikei is shown jumping out of the bleachers and cheering. Aaron and Brook are shown looking disappointed.>
Ashley: It's okay if I let it go now?
<Jeff nods. Ashley pulls her hair back and vomits into her bucket. Tracy pats Ashley on the back and she coughs up another piece of fafaru.>
Ashley: That's it.
<Jeff has the idol in his hands.>
Jeff Probst: Ashley, this is for you. <He hands Ashley the immunity idol.> Tikei is safe from tonight's Tribal Council. Rapa, not as good news for you. I'll see you tonight. You have the rest of the afternoon to think about what you're going to do. Head out.
<Ashley is shown smiling with the idol in her hand. Rapa is then shown walking away. Misty is rubbing Leslie's back. The camera then fades to black.>
Tikei - Day 9
<A happy tribe is shown walking back into camp.>
Ashley: I am so glad that's over with!
Dave: Way to pull through for us, Ash.
Tracy: Yeah, that was great.
Ashley - CONFESSIONAL: I'm so excited that we won the challenge today. It all came down on my shoulders at the end, and I knew I had to perform or else I'd be on the chopping block. I'm so proud of myself for pulling through for the team. I hope that's the last time I see or hear about fafaru, though. <Ashley laughs>
Tina: We've all got at least three more days.
Brian: Thank God!
Tina - CONFESSIONAL: Today was a big win for me. My neck was on the line and I'm very relieved that there's no Tribal Council tonight. I definitely felt like I was going home if we lost, so I'm glad we won. I'm feeling great right now.
Jeff: So what do you think is going to happen over there, Dave?
Dave: Oh, I think it's going to be an easy one for them.
Jeff: Leslie?
Dave: Definitely.
Rapa - Day 9
<The tribe is shown walking back into camp with disappointed looks on their faces.>
Aaron: I can't believe we lost.
Misty: We came close.
James: Close just don't cut it, though.
Aaron - CONFESSIONAL: I'm so pissed that we lost today. We had it all tied up going into the last round. Then it was Leslie's turn. We really needed her to step up and pull through, but she didn't. I'm definitely writing her name down tonight. She blew it.
Aaron: Is there even a question? There's no way we're keeping Leslie after today.
Brook: Yeah, I think everyone's thinking the same.
Aaron: She's the weakest here, and she proved that again today. She's the only one that deserves to go.
Brook - CONFESSIONAL: Aaron's set on voting for Leslie tonight, and I know James is too. Now all I have to do is talk with the ladies and make sure we're all on the same page.
Brook: I'm thinking Leslie tonight.
Misty: Yeah?
Brook: I mean, it's the best thing to do. We can't keep her around and have her lose more challenges for us.
Misty: No, I totally agree. I'll make sure Erica and Angie vote for her.
Brook: Okay, good. And as far as future plans go, I'm thinking Leslie now, and Angie next if we have to.
Misty: That sounds good.
Brook: After that, we'll have a really strong tribe and completely rid of all of our weak links.
Misty: Oh, I agree.
Brook: So that's the plan.
Brook - CONFESSIONAL: <continued> Misty and I are kind of in control of this tribe. I've got the guys, she's got the girls, and when she and I are put together, we make a good team. I just really hope she's not lying to me. I have a lot resting in her when it comes to the vote.
<Misty, Erica, and Angie are talking.>
Misty: The guys are voting for Leslie.
Angie: Well, haven't they been saying that for days now?
Erica: You thinkin' something different?
Misty: I don't know. Brook mentioned something to me that didn't go over too well. He said Leslie first, followed by Angie next.
Angie: What?
Misty: I think those guys are in an alliance and are going to take out all the women.
Erica: I can't believe this.
Angie: What are we going to do?
Misty: Well, I don't know about you, but if we keep all these strong guys around, there's going to be no chance of winning a challenge at the merge.
Angie: Exactly.
Misty: I think we should take one of them out now while we have the chance.
Erica: Bring Leslie in and take out one of the guys?
Angie: I'm totally down with that.
Misty: Let's talk to Leslie.
Erica - CONFESSIONAL: Those guys must think we're clueless. They obviously got somethin' goin' on and plan on voting out all the women. Well, we're gonna turn things around vote out one of them. Change in plans, boys.
<Leslie and Misty are in the jungle talking.>
Leslie: What's going on tonight?
Misty: We're switching it up.
Leslie: You mean it's not me?
Misty: We're gonna take out one of the guys.
Leslie: Are you serious?
Misty: They plan on taking us all out next, so we have to do something now before they make their move.
Leslie: Well, I'll do anything to stay in the game. I thought I was out for sure.
Misty: Here's your ticket in.
Misty - CONFESSIONAL: It looks like the guys have the plan to take out all the girls next, so I've come up with this plan to vote for one of them before they start picking us off. In this game, you always have to be a step ahead of your competition. We're stickin' it to them before they get the chance to stick it to us.
Leslie: Thank you so much. This makes me feel extremely happy. I did not want to go home tonight.
Misty: The guys think it's you, so they're gonna be in for a big surprise.
Leslie: I'm so excited!
Leslie - CONFESSIONAL: I thought for sure I was going home, but then Misty comes up to me and says we're switching things up and voting for one of the guys. I was like, "What? Are you serious?" I've gone through a complete 180. I'm just so happy that I'm not going home tonight.
<All four women are now together.>
Erica: So who are we gonna vote out.
Misty: Aaron's the biggest threat.
Leslie: I know he's the main person who wants me gone.
Misty: If we keep him around, he's going to dominate later in the game. He could easily make it to the end and win.
Leslie: Yeah, he's very strong.
Misty: I think we should take him out now while we have the chance.
Leslie: Totally.
Misty - CONFESSIONAL: It'd be foolish to take one of the strongest guys here to the merge, when you know he's going to win all the challenges. There's no way I can compete physically with Aaron, so I have to use my head. If I can't beat him with brawn, then I'll have to beat him with my brain.
<James, Aaron, and Brook are sitting around the fire.>
James: Where are all the girls at?
Aaron: I don't know.
James - CONFESSIONAL: We've got our plan all set, and it's stayed the same for six days. I think Leslie's ready to go home, and we're all ready to see her go home.
Aaron: I'll be glad when she's gone. Then I won't have to worry about losing another challenge.
Aaron - CONFESSIONAL: I don't like to lose, and I definitely feel like Leslie's holding us back from winning. If we get rid of her, I think we'll be a much stronger tribe. I know we can beat the other tribe; we just have to get rid of any dead weight.
<The tribe has their bags packed and is about to leave.>
Brook: Let's go, I guess.
Aaron: Ready girls?
Misty: Yep.
Angie: No point in wasting time.
Angie - CONFESSIONAL: Tonight could be a big turning point for our tribe. If we vote off Aaron, we become a much weaker tribe in terms of physical strength. But if we don't get rid of him now, we run the risk of him being a huge threat later on. It's an important to decide what's best for us. I'm still a little undecided on the idea, because I do think Aaron is more valuable in challenges than Leslie. I'm going to have to do a little more thinking before I make my final decision.
