I wasn't too impressed. I feel like this is potentially going to be a redux of Masters of Horror. If anyone watched the first episode of MH, it was a
really good episode, much better than this premiere but afterwards it was all downhill. I have a feeling this could go the same way, but who knows. The
previews for next week don't look to promising. How difficult would it be to make one hour episodes with a horror plot?

She's locking him up in there & is leaving. Didn't you notice her admiring the fresh open space?
However, I don't know how that fence will keep him in since it showed the vampire jumping up on the roof tops in a single leap. And there'll be no one left to feed him.

well, they've got some cash behind this, that's for sure. great production values for a "different story each week" kind of show.
i loved the look, i loved the setup, i loved the actors. i loved that "fort" the chicks lived in. that place has to exist somewhere. i want to live there. and throw my enemies in that well-thing with the iron cover. bwahhahahahhahaaa... the writing was weak and that was this eps downfall. (i'm so happy them wga mopes got their new deal after their strike. now how about stepping up to the plate assholes and earning some of that new cash with something more compelling.) alan sep @the star ledger reviewed the first three eps. he gave the first two a noncommittal "meh..." but dude had high praise for the third. i'm in. i need an elizabeth moss fix until "mad men" returns... |

The premiere was Ok..great production value and I thought the director did a great job of creating suspense/fear out of pretty PC stuff gore wise but I can
only assume that one of the strongest if not the strongest episode was chosen for the lead off and that scraes me since again..it held my attention but was
nothing great. I'll probably check it out next week though..nothing else on in the timeslot.
WTF moment - If the vampire has been feeding off their Father for years, why was he not a Vampire? * So...will the same actors recycle and play different roles or will it be a whole new cast each week & we won't see these actors again?

The father wasn't a vampire because he didn't die. You only become a vampire AFTER you die. Before that, you're a human juice-pak. |

Loved it, it was creepy and a good first ep. I was spooked just by the opening sequence.
Mick Garris knows his stuff. I like one hour formats for horror tales, sometimes horror films are too long, they have a half hour of people running around without plot advancement, one hour makes it more intense IMO.

I don't think anyone should complain jsimply because this show is something different - it's not another Law & Order knock-off, not a CSI
knock-off, not an ER/Grey's Anatomy crapfest, it's not more reality TV. It's something DIFFERENT. It proves that there ARE other ideas out there
that can be entertaining. Not all of the episodes are going to be great, that's the nature of anthologies. But I'll keep watching because if I have
to see Sam Waterson's face one more time, I may take a human life.

Then how come after Virgina was bitten by Lemon, she basically martyred herself by locking herself in that hole and at the end, when the guy realized he had been bitten/wounded by the vampire, he had to be left behind and locked up and couldn't leave the compound w/ the girl? |

They said that the only things that kill vampires are stakes through the heart or fire. So the vampire & Virginia were killed (vanquished forever) by fire
in the pit. Then the girl left after locking the dude up in the compound after they both realized he would turn into a vampire too.

I'm a horror junkie as well. But vampires, werewolves, haunted houses, etc...they've all been done before. It's no longer scary to me. I would
rather have the element of reality. A demented nurse as in Misery. Or a demented dog as in Cujo. Something that pertains to real life. When I was in
college, I wrote a screenplay for Cat's Eye. I got an A+.
In "Quitters, Inc." the cat is picked up by a certain Dr. Donatti (Alan King) a shady New York "doctor" who uses experimental techniques to get people to quit smoking and his latest client is Morrison (James Woods) who learns some drastic consequences if he tries to cheat his step-by-step quit smoking policy. This, to me is real life and something people can relate to. I'm thinking hard about something that would make me scared shitless. So far, the only thing I can come up with is the President of the US declaring nuclear war. Or scorpions attacking my bed. Or coming home from work and finding someone hiding in my closet. The shower scene has already been done over and over. What about a tornado, as I live in the south? Quite possibly. Help me out here. What would scare you the most? |

I wasn't sure going in if I was gonna enjoy this but I am so glad I watched. Soooooo sooooooo sooooooo glad.
I love horror stories and that was a classic horror story. Loved it! I don't know how much they can push the envelope but I enjoyed the episode for what it was. |

Gnarl, are you saying that scary has to = gore? I love the classics and the psychological mind fuck. I grew up watching movies like Strangers on a Train
where anyone could turn your life upside down. I couldn't get enough of all the Hitchcock movies and anything with Vincent Price in it. I like a good
slasher flick, but it doesn't always have to be bloody to scare the crap out of you.
