She said it's a bit pricey, but that I can handle. What she said that concerned me is that it hurts. A lot. Mind you, I kinda think she's got a low threshold for pain. Anyways, I'm thinking about it, but not sure if I want to get zapped or something. I mean, I'm already shooting blanks thanks to a CT Scan mishap when I was a tween, so I figure if something really fucks up, I'll go blind or something. Anyways, anyone ever done the laser? How does it compare to the waxing?

But anywho, important thing to know is that most treatments are not definitive. They reduce the amount of hair, but you have to do several sessions for it to work. And it has to be somebody good, cuz you could end up like this lady

Although I didn't have a large area done so it may hurt more for a guy to have his chest hair waxed. My friend had her bikini area done (laser) and she did say it was quite painful. The upside is that it doesn't have to be done as often as waxing. Once the series of treatments is done, you may have to go for some maintenance once or twice a year but that's far less often than getting waxed.

Anyways, I know some are for the natural 'fur' (shudder), but for me, I like it smooth. I just got back from Cuba, and I've got a prety wicked tan. I went waxing las week, but I'm wondering if that's the last time I'll have it done. I don't have a 'low' pain threshold, but it's not like I'm 'stoic', either. Anyways, just looking for some insight, that's all.

Like someone stated above, I think waxing hurts more than the laser but pain is subjective. I don't think it hurts that much but my sister had it done and she said it felt like death. So there you go. You should expect to go to 6-7 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. After that you should be good to go with only going back once or twice a year to have a touch up. You should totally do it. Worth every penny.
