The people who tag bags are usually HS dropouts earning minimum wage, so you can't expect too much. BTW...even if you watch them tag your bag correctly, they will probably still lose your bag, but at least it won't be your fault.

This is going to piss off leisure travelers because they pack for longer stays and because business flyers often won't have to pay. The good news is that since it happened on my return trip I don't have to worry about going without its' contents. I have had a bag lost on the outbound trip before - really sucked having no toiletries or change of clothes with client meetings to attend. I've only had a bag lost twice, and once it was on a return trip. My hair dryer was in it, and the bag was in Cabo for a fucking week. So I called and was like "dudes, I need some compensation for my new hair dryer". But they don't pay compensation if your bag is lost on a return trip. I should have crawled back behind the desk to check the tag as she was putting it on the bag and hoisting it on the conveyor belt. My bad.
