I watched for the first time tonight for this season and David Cook way out sung the other David. His Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me was the worst rendition I've ever heard and Imagine sounded like he should be singing it in a Disney movie. He has no soul and he sounds the same in every song.

He is very talented. I'm just saying he is not "pop star" material. Isn't that what American Idol is all about? David C, on the other hand, is total pop/rock star material. The rest was predictable. "Imagine" was nowhere near as solid as the first time. His coronation song was right on par with the shitastic songs of Idol yore. That said, Cook wasn't particularly sharp either. At least he didn't say why he picked the personal song he did and didn't cry for pity votes. Real man there. X

I thought they were way nicer to Cookie than they were Syesha, overall. Honestly, I really had no problems with their feedback of his 3 songs. For the most part I thought it was pretty positive; save for Simon complaining about his last song choice. But as he is always saying, just an opinion. And he did say the song was beautiful. I just wish he had emphasized that part more. I thought their comments on Syesha were rather negative, overall. So in that regard, no I don't think he got the Syesha treatment BUT any good things they said was then negated by their, IMO, over the top, obnoxious, way off the mark praising of Porkchop. Arrg, I wanted to tape Randy's mouth shut or something. Paula, for once, didn't bother me so much. And yeah, though again it was only his opinion, I thought Simon was way wrong in declaring Porkchop the winner in every round and that he gave a knockout performance. LOL, which I guess is what he also did the week before with Cookie but I agreed with him that time so it didn't bother me. But yeah, in that regards he definitely got the Syesha treatment

In my book, they were pretty close but Cook was less boring, more contemporary, more marketable. I don't know if Simon was using reverse psychology to get people to vote (I'm sure he gets a cut from Dial Idol) or if he thinks that David Cook would do better without the curse of being an AI winner.

I'm on the fence with this. I want David Cook to win and I think he deserves it much more than that nasal singer David Archuleta. At the same time I realize David Cook will be better off if he loses. Reports have stated for weeks now that AI has had its worst season ever with the ratings... they could change things around (a little) if David Cook were to win and make the viewers feel like they actually do have a say in the outcome. Juss sayin.

The show is so fucking manipulated it's scary. Bo sucked in the finals, so the crap he got was well deserved. Tonight is going to be a win-win. Either the fans on the message boards will be in meltdown, or the judges (mostly Randy) will be so pissed they won't even clap <3 Can't wait. I think this is the problem with finales with two front runners. It's always interesting and close but it paints the runner up to be the loser. I think it takes the sting away to go out in 4th or 3rd then to lose at the finale.
