Micronesia was the first time that challenges proved so lethal..Some of the longest lasting injuries have been knee or leg injuries that didn't require a player to be removed, for example Adam and Ami. S16 Ami - blew out her knee in challenges, needed surpery, on crutches for months Jonathan - puncture would to knee became infested, removed from game and required surpery Chet - stepped on coral, required surgery James - cut on thumb became infected, removed from game Alexis - misstep in the dark, hurt her knee Kathy - went crazy, had to be removed S2 - Mike Skupin fell in fire S3 - Lex - wasn't he hospitalized or sick for months with parasites? S6 - Heidi lost incredible amonut of weight, trouble digressing manioc, hospitalized postshow S7 - Osren llost muscle, in bad shape S9 - Eliza cut her hand S10 Jeff W stepped on something in dark and aggrevated knee injury, required surgery Janu lost incredible amount of weight S11 - old guy booted first, hurt himself in first challenge S12 - Bruce removed, needed operation for bowel blockage S13 - Adam hurt his leg, series of operation and on crutches for over a year - Parvati cut her thumb S14 - why was that old guy removed from the game? - Alex hurt himself trying to win IC before his boot

Didn't Parvati cut up her hand in Cook Islands? And didn't Nick or Austin end up breaking some of Bruce's teeth at the merge?

I know the medics had to come in for Lindsey for some reason. Jenna L almost pulled a Skupin and singed her hair in ASS ep 2 (heh) Boston Rob had a bad toothache during ASS--maybe a hand/finger injury too? Don't remember. Eliza was sick early on in Micronesia. (right after Yau boot) ETA: How could we all forget Marquesas ep 3's triple injury count? John with the stingray ("I need somebody who can pee on my hand!") and then a sea urchin, and then the General stepping on a rock that "sliced up my toe nicely." Tanya also got really sick, but if you are counting vomit incidents, that would be a ton of people each season.

And everyone was hurting after the final 4 challenge. Rudy hurt his ankle in ASS. Ghandia hurt her hand after karate chopping a tree. Chad lost a leg.

Eliza almost got removed from the game because her sinus' swelled up so much or something. She also had a very bad foot cut the day she got booted in Micronesia.

He said that the medics were very concerned about her, and that through the first two seasons, she was the closest anyone ever came to dying on the show. He said she was much worse off than they showed on TV. Gabriel cracked a tooth during Marquesas. You can see it if you watch the episodes. His smile changes because he's missing part of a tooth. And yes, Lex was sick for months when he came back from Africa. He had to be on antibiotics for a long time because of stomach parasites.

Both Tom and Ian's feet were hurt during final immunity. Ian's left foot lost feelings (cannot recover). S13 Becky - back injury - see below When she returned home from the show, she had to go to the hospital. "I had an injury on my back," she said. "That's why I always wore that yellow tank top. Everybody was like, 'Oh my gosh, don't you have other clothes?' I had a bandage there." She said she didn't want the cyst drained on the island because she was afraid it might get infected even worse. "When I got back from the airport, I went straight to the ER because the cyst had gotten this big (makes hand gesture to show the size) and turned to rock-hard puss," she said. "So then they were like, 'You need to go to a surgeon right now.' They scalpeled it out. So for another two weeks I was on Percocet."

I still think that one of the worst things to happen to anyone was Daniel from Amazon becoming sick with Malaria... scary stuff.

Ian's left foot lost feelings (cannot recover). Lill did similar damage to her legs in beating Fairplay in final endurance. I couldn't help laughing when Aras slipped on the rocks and cut himself with the champaign glass while celebrating F2 in Panana. He badly cut his back. If he was was hurt worse, wonder if they'd let Danielle win by default?
