A Hollywood Exec left LA to vacation in Cambodia in 2001. When he returned home, he was changed forever. Scott Neeson's experience inspired him to start the Cambodian Children's Fund. After just two years, he raised enough private capital to build a school and quit his job in LA to move to Cambodia. His school recruits children who literally live on a landfill that is 11 football fields long and 100 feet deep. Neeson's school now houses 450 kids, offering each of them food and a life-changing education. He is a testament that authentic compassion is a verb, not an adjective.



A few girls from our women's empowerment company (I Am That Girl) and I are flying to Cambodia on January 17th. We will be taking two weeks to work with a unique group of girls (14-17 yrs.) who embody what it means to be true survivors. Most the girls have been orphaned, abandoned, or forced to work from a very young age to help support their families. I Am That Girl, as a company that represents and stands up for girls and women everywhere, seeks to equip and empower girls regardless of their age, class, religion, ethnicity, or race; to inspire all young women everywhere to pursue their passion and dream big. We hope to bring this message to the Cambodian girls and help to make their lives a place where dreaming is once again possible.

These children need anything from educational games, kid's multivitamins, and fashion magazines to massive quantities of antibiotics, antiseptics, cold/flu mixtures etc. Most of these things can be purchased in Cambodia cheaper than in the States, so good ol' fashioned money is preferred since a dollar goes twice as far there!
