Like me, clearly you didn't grow up here. All of my location lessons have come from working with buyers in the area, most of whom grew up here and have
pre conceived notions as to where they can live - even when they have little or no money they wont go near Cannon or Barton Street. Myself, I think there is
huge potential and future value in the Bayfront area and the area directly around the General hospital. It will be interesting to see what that house sold
for, it should be firmed by now but it is not reported yet, it looks like a lovely home and a bargain for who ever bought it! - I just looked at the map - I
have shown houses 2 streets over, and at night it is a frightening place to be, the action 2 doors down while I was waiting in the car was non stop. I swear I
heard shreaking coming from one of the houses.
There are some beautiful old houses in the country and the mountain is a good place to raise children, there are many older neighbourhoods on the mountain with the same character homes as in the lower City. Concession Street is another village type area and the Brow offers breathtaking views of the City and the Lake.
I am glad you like the city, I think it is underrated and a hidden gem. Once the expansion of Mac is done with the research park etc, this blue collar mentality town may gain a little self esteem.
