Tres, I don't think the amendment to the state constitution will pass in November. I'm hoping it won't but I could be wrong. Right now the latest objective poll I've seen says that it's pretty evenly divided about whether gay marriage is a good thing. However, when asked the question of whether if should be an amendment to the state constitution, a lot of people don't want to go that far.
It was really odd to see the San Diego newspaper devote a lot of space to the marriages today. Given that it's rather conservative paper, it devoted a couple of pages to the stories of couples who just got hitched which were really interesting.
