It's probably Charlie coming to defend his recruiter.

are you kidding me? i like eliza--but i hate the fact that charlie got a straight shot to finals just because he knew somebody. there are probably 50
applicants out there that fit his character role who could have been called, who probably weren't. and who is 'ReducedCaffiene'

I can't wait for next season's cast consisting of:
Ralphie: bisexual law student and mutual friend of Eliza and Charlie Carly: ditzy southern blond from Jaime's sorority Tish: Perfect 10 © Model Boxer Henry: FLOZ Bartender Ariel: Ethan's 5,698th ex-girlfriend |

Survivor has always vetted the mailed-in tapes. And they've always taken tips from insiders on possible cast members. And they've always cast with
the idea of ending up with a successful, marketable product. This is new to some people?

Eliza this one is for you......Let me just start out by saying, that while I would love for a bunch of normal everyday people to be on every cast of Survivor
the fact is that there is always a majority of young, skinny mactors. That being said, even mactors are people and they have their own personality and flavor
they bring to the show. I also know that casting through tens of thousands of videos would be horrendous, so a little help to narrow the field, I'm sure
is welcomed. However, I think most of us "normal" people have this undying hope of getting on the show. So....
Here is the big question: Let's say that as a fan we send in a video tape, what are the chances of getting a call back if we 1) are somewhat interesting and 2) don't have a connection to a previous Survivor or casting member? TIA, Eliza. |

StarDust wrote:Let me tell you, EVERY SINGLE video tape that gets sent in is watched. Unfortunately, most of the people who submit tapes aren't a good match for the show for one reason or another. Being "somewhat interesting" is not enough, I don't think. Having a connection to a former survivor is not enough either, though. In case you all have forgotten, I got cast off of a video tape which was one among thousands! If you're hoping to get picked, keep trying! Look at someone like Randy who applied 15 times and is now on the show! |

Eliza, are you not allowed to talk about former Survivors for some reason, or did you just miss my question?

Thanks Eliza. I guess the rest of us who don't know anyone will continue to send in videos and hope that someone likes what they see. I hope that there
at least a few more seasons to try. You were cast based on video alone? Nice job. They did a great job!!

Eliza do you have an original copy of your audition tape you could post online? Or a link to anyone else who has been picked (excluding those already online,
i.e. Jenny Guzon-Bae, Frosti Zernow, and Erik Reichenbach). What was your first tape like? My guess is to catch someone's eye you must not only do
something good in the first 10-15 seconds, but also be on an extreme side of a subject rather than a more passive, "in-the-middle" kind of person. Is
this right?
