Listen: Kelly Clarkson's Future Smashmore info on the new album
Posted 4/4/2008 1:28:00 PM by Ryan Dombal
WHO: Kelly Clarkson
WHAT: "Ready" (demo)
WHY: Of the four stripped-down Kelly demos mysteriously leaked to the net this week, this is the one with the most potential. Backed by a lilting acoustic guitar and a piano, Clarkson moans about being frozen in an unfulfilling relationship: "I sit so patiently drenched in all of the s*** I can't escape." But, as the chorus attests, there's hope. "I'm ready now! Come get me!" she sings, open throated - it's a monster hook built for belting. With minor polishing, the song could be a Lilith Fair-style smash. Or, add some loud guitars and a fat back beat, and it's another triumphant girl-power screed. However you cut it, the song is already there. (Note to the producer of Kelly's next album: don't screw this one up.)

Kane (DJ on FLZ 93.3 which is a local station in FL) just mentioned that "industry insiders" are buzzing that Kelly's next single will be "sent to radio by the end of summer".
Kelly is working with Ryan Tedder of One Republic ("Apologize") on the next album

Q: How is the project with Kelly Clarkson coming along?
A: Kelly's project is in the early stages. But what we've come up with so far is big and we love it.

Tedder, who co-wrote and produced Leona Lewis's number one hit 'Bleeding Love', told DS that Clarkson's new songs will feature "big choruses" and "heavy drum programming".
He also revealed that the songs are influenced by nineties electro-rockers Garbage, while one song, a mid-tempo rock ballad, features an experimental bridge inspired by Mozart.
Pete Ganbarg of Pure Tone Music will be A&R'ing the project
