I'm not usually a fan of female power-belters except on Australian Idol. Ngaiire, Paulini, Cosima, Anne, Kate and Natalie are awesome. The only ones I hate are Schrieky-Lee and Screamily. Tarasai isn't even that bad.

I think Australian Idol contestants just straight up pick better songs.
We're sick of hearing AI wannabes try and fail at belting out stuff like Whitney and Alicia Keys etc. No bitch, please don't sing "I Will Always Love You" because you can't. They actually pick songs that aren't over done and that they can actually sing. Hearing Kate belt out "I Want It All" or Natalie do "Boys In Town" was so much more enjoyable than a lot of what we get on AI. |

That and the AuIdol producers/judges pick more current people in general instead of the Whiltney/Aretha clones we get on AI.

AI has fat black diva (ie LaKisha), skinny black diva (ie Stephenie), tranny looking black diva (ie Trenyce) and hot white girl (who Simon wants to bang) who thinks she's a black diva (ie Katharine). OzI has a range of girls with big voices. |

I wish somebody has the Laura getting into the top 12 video and upload it on youtube.
It was extremely hilarious, even during the reprise, she still sang as bad. And she had the audacity to say "COME ON GUYS, SING WITH ME!" while Roxane was crying in the hands of Kate Dearaugo and Milly.
Unlike seaguy, however, i kinda like Roxane, though only ONE performance |
