OzIdol is the idol franchise that CI aspires to be but no matter what they do, doesn't come quite close.

if AI7 were any indication, even American Idol aspires to be as great as OzIdol, the whole instruments thing was brought in so they could replicate the
awesomeness of Aussie Idols 4 and 5.

It could still be slightly redeemed with a Theo win, but CI definitely screwed up this season, especially by letting Amborely last for as long as she did in
expense of the other more talented girls. Such a disappointment after the spectacular dream of a season that was AI7.
Here's hoping Aussie Idol delivers. Is there another Williams sister who can audition? If so, she must win! |

what? ew AI7 was only slightly less sucky than AI6, definitely in the bottom rung of American idol seasons. the horrible theme nights and the endurance of a
lot of the sub-par generi-contestants (i'm looking at you Archuleta and Syesha) pretty much destroyed any hopes of it being the comeback season.
anyway, as for Australia, how are they gonna handle 3 hosts? and is there any way we non-australians can watch it online? I mean sure we're getting CI but it's such a suckfest with their pompous ass judges and the general feeling that they all think they're a big deal when clearly they're not. |

Is there anyone that doesn't agree that Australian Idol is the best Idol show? Cuz if anybody doesn't agree with that statement, they should have their
head checked.
Australian Idol is clearly the best Idol show in the world and even though last season was kinda iffy (though I think it had a great end result, Natalie <3), I'm definitely ready for the upcoming season! |

it's pretty hard to deny Australian Idol's awesomeness, it has all the musical legitimacy of Canadian Idol with all the glitz and glamor of American
Idol. with none of the negative stuff that plague the other two major English-speaking idol franchises (no regional voting and a majority of the final 12
become serious front-runners throughout the series, not to mention actually helpful guest mentors who don't steal the spotlight, and reasonably broad theme
nights).

Anyway, yeah looks fun. I'm kinda hoping the divas get weeded out early and often though. OZ Idol shines in the singer/songwriter group. So more of them! |

Let a few divas in for DC, he got robbed of them on CI this year so he's hurting and taking it out on my poor, precious Amberly.
Australian Idol has a good mix of diva type singers and others unlike AI which often is overloaded with divas and CI which slaughters any diva-like singers asap. Jessica <3 (even though I complained about her incessantly when she was on the show) |
