Mind you I'm sure when she does you sexist peeps won't by it. On another note did any of you watch the most recent cycle of ANTM? I didn't but the finale was just on TV and I stopped on it for a bit and as soon as I saw that girl that won I was like holy shit, Kate won ANTM.

Archuletard hate. Apparently this year Idol has already gone over to the UK and USA for Aussie auditionees who'll miss out here due to being on holiday/tax evasion or some shit. Exciting. The wedding yesterday of Australian Idol success story Guy Sebastian to his childhood sweetheart Jules Egan continued the fairytale for the singer. Idol judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson described the ceremony as: "the most uplifting wedding I've ever been to". "It felt like the final scene in a romantic comedy. It was incredible; there was so much joy in the room." The ceremony, held at the same Manly chapel where Nicole Kidman married Keith Urban, was attended by almost 200 guests including model couple Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall. The bridal party arrived in three silver Rolls-Royces, the windows blacked out to protect the exclusivity of the lucrative $150,000 deal the newlyweds signed with New Idea. Egan, wearing an Ivory gown designed by Master/Slave, exchanged vows with her long time love in the gothic-style Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel at 11.30am. Several police officers were joined by private security guards at the two entrances to the church on Sydney's northern beaches. Also among the guests were Shannon Noll, The Veronicas, Dean Geyer, former NRL player Jason Stevens and Ian Dickson who said Egan, 28, looked "amazing". "It was some dress. She looked absolutely beautiful," he said. Egan was flanked by six bridesmaids, and it's no wonder her outfit was impressive: the dress is valued at more than $10,000 and designer Roderick Ng said months of planning went into making it. "It is very elaborate and romantic," he said. "It is definitely not your run-of-the-mill wedding dress. "She is a really beautiful woman and she is living the modern fairytale. It is like every girl's dream to marry an idol." Sebastian, 26, wore a brown suit. Following the church service, the couple travelled to the Hilton Hotel for photographs. They then attended a reception at Luna Park, the venue where Lara Bingle and Michael Clarke held their recent engagement party. The intense security continued at the reception, with the newlyweds determined not to be photographed. The couple met 13 years ago at the Assemblies of God Paradise Community Church they attended with their families in Adelaide. Sebastian was 13 and Egan was 15. I haven't always been an "avid" watcher, just one of these "if it's on I'll watch it" kind of things. With the exception of Idol 2006. Omg Damien Leith can sing. It wasn't Kyle who called Damien an ugly b*****d it was Mark Holden. Something that, as much as I quite like Mark Holden and believe him to know what he is talking about (when he's not coming out with nonsensical gobbledy gook that is lol), it isn't something I would be prepared to forgive him easily for!! So what if Damien doesn't look like your average top of the charts pretty boy. Seriously, who gives a toss when all he has to do is open his mouth and he stops people in their tracks. After receiving ribbing about his looks, his "tic tac" teeth and copping a hiding from both Mark and Kyle on the night he sang "Celebrate" this is a guy who created Australian Idol history. He is the only singer ever to have not only received back-to-back touchdowns from Mark Holden, but to then go on and receive a hat trick - 3 in a row. In total he received 4 touchdowns for the series. He is the only Australian Idol winner ever to have 2 consecutive albums debut at number one. (His third and current album "Songs of a Generation" debuted at number 2). At the time of winning, he was the oldest Idol winner in the world, proving you don't have to have youth on your side in order to win. Not to mention the fact he was an Irishman, living in Australia and was not even a citizen when he won!! (He is now). I voted for Casey Donovan about 3x to win. I voted for Damien about 90x. Damien is the only Idol whose albums I have brought. I do honestly believe he is the best voice to come out of Australian Idol since it began. And what is it with the guys in comparison to the girls? Unfortunately Casey Donovan (Season 2) is nowhere to be seen now. Natalie Gauci (Season 5) hasn't gone anywhere and Kate DeAraugo (Season 3) has ended up in a group comprising of other Idol contestants, so she hasn't been successful at carving out a solo career either. Yet Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll, Anthony Callea and now Damien have all had lasting careers as solo artists. I'm going to see Damien in concert next month and I can't wait!! Ciao!! Happy Idoling!

You can check out his my.space and it looks kind of like he's more into film now?? Anyway though, I think he's just a young guy figuring out what he wants to do. Lisa Mitchell (season 4), on the other hand, has released two successful EPs, and her debut cd is coming out at the end of the year. She's in UK with producers/writers, etc. She's really going to take off, I think. And Marty? lol, I won't even respond to that one.

I dunno. I didn't care about him on the show so I never much cared after :P. I hope the guy who is destined to win this year isn't fangirl-fav so I have a chance at liking him.

I'm glad they are getting it out of the way, but I preferred when they had the semis in a week straight last season. That was a lot of fun. I'm hoping the change means they embrace the American/Canadian format, seperate guys and girls and cut 4 a week. A lot less talent will be lost that way.

I for one don't want them to adapt the American/Canadian semis format since it makes the latter half of the competition less exciting. The A/C format lets favorites get complacent and as a result we have less and less really stellar performances since most of the finalists just ride on their popularity. That and seeing the same faces again and again that much longer makes the finals feel stale. I like the Australian format with a top 24 divided into gender-specific groups with a wildcard round at the end. makes for a more exciting semi's and makes the final 12 that much more special.
