Right now though I'm watching Sophie's. You guys all rated it bad but the judges liked it and she wasn't bottom 3 for once so I'm curious. I've never heard the song in my life so I'm not sure what the original sounds like but I actually liked Sophie's performance. I know it wasn't an amazing vocal technically but I thought it sounded good. I think it had a lot of what people like about Sophie's voice so perhaps that's why she wasn't bottom 3 and why the judges liked it. I loved the don't hold back parts especially. I just really enjoyed it, more than her other even. I dunno it was more natural for me and I'm not sure what Darren was on about it because I thought it was more like the Sophie they saw in London at her audition.

The judges love Sophie on that performance because, like Canadian Idol judges too, they LOVE VULNERABILITY. I see it as a vocal problem, but judges regard it as VULNERABILITY!1!!11. I personally disagree, because you can be vulnerable without having to shiver your vocal

Vulnerability without shaky vocals etc is ideal, Amberly on CI imo had this mastered, her singing was excellent and she had a lot of vulnerability. If Sophie sang better technically she'd be a contender but if she continues to be a weaker technical singer she won't get too far. The Aussie Idol winners are all excellent singers on top of their appeal style wise.

Jessica's new single "Running Back" with Flo Rida music video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNqJNj3Clf4 It's a catchy R&B track, it'd probably do well in North America actually. Doesn't sound like Jess to me though so it's kind of weird for me. Also she looks too old in the video, she's like 18 isn't she?

However, she can easily slip into the top 6 or as much as top 4 (like Marty and Ricky). There is so many random fodder that need to go and a Madam shock boot is looking more and more likely with her downhill spiral.

Chains is my favourite Paulini performance, but Christlyn's was really good too. That was indeed sexy in a fat girl sort of way. kenneth, do you know what kind of Asian Chrislyn is? Wes and Chrislyn are sooo gonna be the final 2. Mark, Roshani, and Madam (if she gets better) have a chance too.

I've been following the thread but I just haven't cared enough to watch the show. I'm sure the thread full of all you obnoxious bitches is more entertaining than the actual show. HOWEVER, I'll be front and center next week watching ABBA night. WTF is wrong with AI that they can't do ABBA night? Maybe now that ABBA has had a huge resurgence, they'll do it. But I doubt it. And SHC, I didn't like "Chains" it's true. But I do like Roshani and hate Sophie so we're not quite on the same page yet...

She claimed the Young Divas were bitter when hit-maker Ricki-Lee Coulter left. Mauboy was brought in to replace Coulter, joining Paulini Curuenavuli, Emily Williams and Kate DeAraugo. "When Ricki left, there was something crazy going on. They hated each other," Mauboy said. "They were upset. She left the three of them on their own." Coulter denies the claims. Her tenure with the Divas was short-term, she said, and a solo career was always a priority. "The Young Divas was supposed to be four solo artists who came together for a tour, then went back to their solo careers," Coulter said. "People want to say we were bitchy and hated each other but, really, I knew I couldn't do the Young Divas and my solo career at the same time." Coulter said she and the Divas have not made contact since she left. Mauboy said Coulter's exit impacted on the Divas' willingness to guide their newest recruit. "They had to teach me when they'd be in a really bad mood about Ricki," she said. In August, Mauboy and Curuenavuli also left the Young Divas to focus on solo records. Williams and DeAraugo will continue as the Divas. Coulter, now a co-host on Australian Idol, will soon release a greatest hits album. Mauboy is also set to release an album titled Been Waiting. Here's my ranking for tonight: 1. Roshani - literaly sexy, playful, yet still sophisticated. Well done. 2. Thanh - I'm glad that he finally projects his softer vocal range and there was no over the top choreograph. 3. Mark - Marcia and Dicko were particularly not impressed with his attitude, how he kept sulking throughout the week about having to sing ABBA. But I hate that they judged him based on that, rather than the actual performance. I thought it was decent 4. Chrislyn - While she emoted it well, the vocal was very theatrical 5. Sophie - Her vocal didn't shake like in the past. Pretty okay. She looks a lot like Tara from CI6 here 6. Wes - Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, too 'aussie rock' once again 7. Teale - Zzzzzzzz, most boring song choice tonight 8. Luke - Zzzzzzzzzz, one note sally. I can't see how he can sell his voice to today's market 9. Madam - Awful arrangeemnt, okay vocal
