Sophie just makes crappy song choices imo. She picks songs that don't really suit her voice. You can tell she has an awesome voice but it just doesn't
mesh with her song choices. If she can get better at it I know she'll be awesome.

I decided I'd check out the other people in the Top 12 who I haven't seen yet.
Roshitty indeed. WTF? Madam > Roshitty. I hope Madam owns her ass next week. Luke, really? The judges couldn't put Amanda in over this loser. The only possible explanation for his presence in the Top 12 is that the judges think he'll be easy for their favos to beat. Worst version of "Angels" I've ever heard. No redeeming moments in the performance at all, it was just painful. Johnny, better than Luke and less painful to listen to but still not that good. Mark is half decent. He's got a good voice and is very safe, which is what Australia usually loves. |

I'll go out on a limb and say Teale and Sophie or Brooke Top 2, which would be awesome.
I think Sophie will either get a really early boot or go to the end, it depends on her song choices. Oh btw I just saw the clip of Dicko saying "I Can't Get No Satisifaction" was the best performance of the season so far. LOL. I love Sophie and upon a few more listens I like the Satisfaction performance but just wow, best of the season, no. Sophie rules though and I'm glad she was voted through by Australia for the wildcard. To me what Natalie did was amazing and rare winning it when she was a judge wildcard pick. I don't think anyone else can really do that. The public already saw you twice and didn't give you the votes, actually coming around to impress them and stay after the judges stick you into the finals is an amazing feat imo. |

Some people are really good at making song choices and some people are really bad. You can be really talented but not know yourself well enough to make good
choices that suit your voice imo. Lots of people lose at the Idol game because they suck hard at making choices that either they'll sing well or
they'll connect with or that the audience will like. It's a hard game and you have to be able to play it well to go far.

The one thing about this set-up: making it in through voting in the first round is sooo dependent on the quality of singers in your group. Was it the 3rd
group that was really strong? Because of the set-up I can see why wildcards could still win. I don't have the patience to analyze the data, but it seems
possible to be a wildcard, and more popular than someone who was in the top 2 of a group.
What do the vote numbers look like for Aussie Idol? Is it 2,304 votes cast like CI, or a gajillion cast like AI? I don't remember hearing how many votes were cast during the results shows. |

They have to pay .55 AUD for each vote (for anyone who doesn't know that's .44 American Dollars).

So...so...do even less Aussies vote than Canadians? Seems kind of lame to charge so much for a phone call. does that mean only contestants with wealthy
fanbases advance?

I haven't heard about any controversy over having to pay for votes and see no issue with the winners so it must be working. Perhaps if CI charged for votes
we could have winners as great as Guy, Kate, Damien and Natalie (yes I'm aware I didn't mention Hippo Beast).

This is the "worst.season.ever" for me because none of the 3 people that I'm sentimentally attached to made it to the top 12. I'm talking
about Amanda, Brooke Schubert, and Natalie. And to think of someone like Luke getting that final chance annoys me to no end. I like a lot of people in this
current top 12, but none of them yet that I'm emotionally attached to.
Previous seasons I always have sentimental favourites making it season 2: Chanel, Hayley, Hippo beast in the words of SHC, 3: Anne, Kate 4: Mutto, Reigan, Damien 5: Brianna, Ben, Natalie |
