When I was in California a couple of years ago, there was a rule where you could turn right when the light was red if it was safe to do so.
Does the same rule apply in Florida? I'll be there in a few weeks, and I don't want to get busted.

As a Floridian, the fact you even asked this question makes me hope for a traffic accident for you.

No. It is not. They will fine the living crap out of you. Wait for the light to change. Those people are honking at something else.

The Right on Red repeal act of 2006 still pisses me off.

It appears the "red light" is an unkown to many in OT.
rS, tell me what state you can go through a red light. Just one. You say there are many. Quote me the traffic law in the specific state.

Yeah, like pseudo and others said, you can turn right on red in Florida unless explicitly told not to do so on signage. What will trip you up, though is the
difference between a red light on left and a red left arrow.

Pfft, with all these old people driving down here if I couldn't go thru a red light, I'd never get anywhere.

Around here the "Right on Red" rule applies town to town (it's not state wide)
