I thought the article was very interesting and made some good points. But there are a few problems with it. The first is this:
The influence of religions is not even close to "bordering on non-existent". Is he living in some kind of cave? Jeremiah Wright, anyone? And that's just for starters. And then there's the whole issue of lumping all "environmentalists" together. Just as religions don't like to be confused with their fundamental offspring, neither do environmentalists. There are many shades of green. |

There is a decidedly anti-capitalist bent to the environmental crowd. Their carbon credit schemes are socialism guised as environmental concern.
Not to mention the lunacy of the proposition that we in the west should buy credits and then give emerging economic giants like China and India subsidized efficient power to further destroy western manufacturing. Yeah, that isn't economic suicide, is it? How about we stop buying from them. |
