It doesn't state Survivor is ending there. It just states that's where Probst's contract ends.

He might call it quits after Vee defeats the 18 other winners in S20.

Nice article, Mister Plum. Actually when Peachy did the teleconference before the start of Micronesia he was hinting very strongly then that 20 seasons would
be it for Survivor, not just for him. He has said they'd like the final edition to be an all-winners ASS since Richard Hatch would be out of prison at that
time.

Thanks melicatsmom. I would be glad if season 20 is an all winner edition. It's a great end for the show. Hope it won't suck and Hatch will go far. |

I think the bigger question is: why the hell does he have a simple plan avatar?

As I said in a similarly themed recent thread here, they're not cancelling this show, regardless of Probst's participation, until the ratings are
completely in the toilet. From a standings standpoint, the ratings have been very consistent ever since the big drop in ratings after the first couple of
seasons when the show was ridiculously huge (Borneo & Australia). This show isn't getting canned while its 1st in its timeslot and in the top 15 every
week. When its in 100th place and 4th in its timeslot? Maybe then? Any notion that its being ended with season 20 is too hasty, we have no idea how things
will be at that time. Remember, this show was supposed to be cancelled due to Pirate Master, how'd that work out? :P

The real question is, why is Burnett focusing more on idiotic game shows like "My dad is better then your dad"?

Quiddity wrote: Yes, but in spite of the ratings, Jeff Probst admitted in an interview that after the disappointing Survivor Fiji, it was a general consensus by most everyone associated with the show that the 16th season was going to be the final season as it was felt that Survivor had run its course. When they were casting for Pirate Master it was assumed that Survivor 16 was going to be the Final season and CBS was hoping that they could replace it with Pirate Master. As Pirate Master was a disappoinment also, Burnett and Co. realized that Survivor needed it's mojo back so you can tell that they stepped back and thought about how to improve the quality of the show. Certainly the casting for Survivor China as well as the use of the location was the best that it had been since before All Stars. The ratings for Survivor China weren't all that much higher that those of Survivor Fiji, the individuals who produce the show regained their enthusiasm for it. Although, I've enjoyed Survivor Micronesia, the desire of CBS to have a second All Stars season (which became Fans vs. Favorites as a compromise) stunted the forward momentum somewhat. Hopefully, the cast size will go back to 16 for season 17. |

After everything that went down between him and EPMB, with the allegations, I can't see them wanting to have anything to do with Hatch. Isn't he writing a tell all book about the behind the scenes events of Survivor? |
