Will Smith is cool but he always has to big up himself in his movies, that's my problem with him.

In ID4: Who would the savior of humanity be? Will Smith. (OK technically it was Dennis Quaid and a computer virus I just mean he was the alpha male hero in this)
In Men in Black, he's not one of the aliens or the bad guy, of course he's the coolest MIB. The other MIB is actually a big time prick and he's the cool one. So not only can Willy be a alien he can't even be the prick, he's got to be the coolest guy.
In I Am Legend, Will Smith is really good and can't even be seen on screen shooting a deer , they get a evil Lion to kill it. No way could Willy ever be shown doing something that might not appeal to everyone on Earth. By the way Will Smith is apparently so incredible, he's the last man on earth.
Bad Boys shows him close to having a mean streak but basically that he is always killing bad people and never doing a corrupt thing in his own self interest, he's basically good. Also the action scenes make him look like the worlds biggest badass. Not that he should ever not be on totally to 11 and supremely awesome in everything he does.

In Hitch he is totally irresistible to women, he's like the worlds biggest playboy and gets them all and when he finally gets one he can't fuck, he has a crisis. What if the white guy had to teach him how to get dates? That's unpossible!
Pursuit of Happiness. Best. Father. Ever. Hires his real life son to the part and gives him free celebrity star status! Yay nepotism in action!

Now lets take Hancock. Oh noz! He is a bad person finally! This gives the movie promise that we might see a interesting movie from the viewpoint of the Super Villain which hasn't really been done before, and would be cool to see. But wait, he finally sees the err of his ways and now asks the planet to forgive him and that he will learn to care about puppies and little girls again...
awwwww how sweet... Big Willy could never be bad.. it was just a phase he was going through, please forgive him. I bet you that he is only evil for as long as it's funny then he starts being good. My guess? 20 minutes max.

Also note how he is the greatest superhero ever, basically has all of Superman's powers and a few others, not that Big Willy should ever slum around having one measly little power he NEEDS THEM ALL :P

Sorry before this declines into total meltdown hatred I will say, y'know I like Will Smith, he has chemistry, charisma, he is good looking and can act the hero really well.
He probably does deserve his Golden Boy status and he seems like I could hang with him, play some hoops and have some drinks with him.

I just wish he would stretch his chops, like Samuel Jackson and Denzel have done. Someone needs to tell him, he can be allowed to play a badguy. ONCE?

At least he was evil kind of in Six Degrees of Separation. We know he can do this.
