I know Fiji sucked but the final 3 saved it. Otherwise Dreamz would have won immunity and voted out Earl for being a threat at the end.
Then who would have won? Cassandra? Dreamz? Survivor would have been like canceled out of horribleness. The point of the F3 was to eliminate the blowout final votes by not having the F3 immunity challenge winner bring a goat to the end. It was also to eliminate the phenomenon of the best player finishing third (although both were stupid reasons in the first place that weren't thought out very well).
So what happened in Fiji? Well first off, we had the biggest blow out vote in the history of the game. One person got 9 jury votes. Two people got zero. And the 'best player of the season' finished in fourth instead of the usual third. The entire 'purpose' for F3 FAILED tremendously in Fiji, showing how ridiculous it was to ever have it become something permanent.
Overall, the Final 3 has worked as in each of the 3 seasons that have had it, the best player has won. Sorry, but I consider Earl to have been a better player than Yau-man because Earl had been better at making social connections whereas Yau was more isolated. Earl was even able to get floaters like Boo and Stacy to vote with them when it was necessary. Otherwise the contestants who would have made the final 2 would have been Ozzy/Becky (blow out), Dreams/Cassandra (2 goats), Amanda/? (she might have been foolish enough to bring Todd thinking that the jury would see him as 'the bad guy'). I would rather see a blow out at the end then have to watch the jury decide between 2 goats as is what would have happened if Fiji had a Final 2.
