Can you get your hands on some local honey? Supposedly, there's a new wave with allergies. If you can find locally made honey, and take a teaspoon a day,
you will build a resistance to allergies. Or it could be some cruel hoax to sell more honey. Either way, it sounds like it could have some merit.

The (local) honey thing helps, but you have to start taking that the season before, like in the Fall, to start building up immunity.

I'm allergic to trees, mold and ragweed. Tree pollen is in the air right now. I use Allegra 180 mg. and it helps a lot. You'll need to get a
prescription, but most any doctor is willing to prescribe antihistamines for seasonal allergies. It's about 10 times stronger than the OTC Clariten or
Zyrtec that you can get in the stores.
I started rinsing my sinuses this year, and it really does help. I do it first thing in the morning and then again at night. I bought a syringe-type sinus washer for $10 at Walgreens. I think it works better than a neti pot -- I like modern, high tech stuff over New Age nostalgia. And don't eat honey. If you are allergic to the plant it's made from, it's much more likely to make you sick than to make you feel better. |

I am going to do a sinus rinse starting tonight, the allergies are motherfucking killing me. I also wonder if I should start taking something stronger than
Zyrtec?

Ugh, I'm feelin it too GJ. I was miserable this morning. I mix a nice cocktail of Zyrtec and Tylenol though, and it usually keeps me going throughout the day. |

Advil Cold and Sinus. Works like a charm. Behind the counter though. And Zyrtec makes me eat all day. I tried it once and stopped letting my daughter take it-
I thought she was eating so much because of a growth spurt or something.

lunch at work I had eaten one and a half personal pan pizza's from Pizza hut. O_O

So I bought one of those NeilMed things where you shoot the saline solution up into your nostrils. I still can't tell the difference.
How often do you need to do it for it to start making any sort of difference. |

I really want one of those sinus rinse things. I'm allergic to general spring pollen crap as well as dander (I have a cat). Right now we only have Reactine
in the house and it really doesn't do anything for me once I'm in full on allergy attack mode.

I've already takena Zyrtec and a Claritan. I'm probably gonna die. o_0 I was told by my allergist that you're not supposed to mix Zyrtec and Claritin. You probably will die now! |
