I don't know about the neti pot, but the bottle isn't too messy. You need to stand over a sink, of course, cause you're squirting water up one nostril and letting it run out the other, but it only takes a few seconds. I was sort of afraid the first time I did it, but there's really nothing to it.

One thing you want to do though, is make sure you rinse an hour or so before you have to go anywhere (or go to bed), because you're liable to have some drainage afterwards. Like, when you turn your head certain ways or if you bend over to dry your hair or something, you might get a little water running out of your nose. I rinse mine first thing in the morning so I have the time I'm getting ready for work for any drainage to come out.

Doesn't sound very attractive, I know, but *hand over heart* it really helped my sinuses a lot.
