Why can Paula never make a coherent sentence?

Dumb, dumb question. She's actually been more coherent this season, suggesting she has curbed her intake considerably (presumably under threat of being
fired). But it should be obvious to everybody that she has already suffered permanant, long term brain damage due to drug use. And like bbagdan suggests, she
probably wasn't very bright to begin with. I suggest firing her after the season is over and replacing her with Sheila E, who did such a great job on Next
Great American band.

Well, I admit that I've watched a few episodes of "Hey, Paula" (such a good trainwreck), and it does seem plausible that her problems stem from a
sleeping disorder along with her intake of pain medication.
Now for some medical speculation: The years of bulimia could have given her a few aneurysms that could be affecting Broca's area. Broca's aphasia is characterized by slow, labored, halting, slurred strings of words. Is that Paula or what? Booyeah! Of course, the condition is also characterized by a lack of grammar - Paula has at least second-grade-level grammer, so I'd say she has a subclinical case of Broca's aphasia. Whatever's responsible for her speech, she better not try to fix it and suck all the entertainment out of the show.
